Exceptional Value - Works Well (Better Than I Would Have Thought)
I'm used to using my Mitutoyo 505-626 analog caliper. I figured "It's not the seventies any more, analog calipers went the way of bell bottoms" & decided to "upgrade" to digital. I read a bunch of reviews and watched a bunch of demo videos. I didn't want to spend a fortune, I already have a caliper, and new Mitutoyos are like $200 for a digital one. Analog Mitutoyos are $80! So, I bit the electron & bought a digital iGaging IP54. By the looks of it, I suspect other companies make this same caliper. The good: cheap; digital display makes it easy to read (although it FEELS weird, like going from an analog speedometer to a digital one, your brain has to interpret the numbers, it can't just "feel" the measurement); looks cool; comes with a snazzy, well-padded, although all-plastic, case; pretty accurate (see below); new.The bad: not as smooth as the Mitutoyo (I never considered the Mitutoyo "smooth," but it's WAY smoother than the iGaging); the box that houses the electronics is too large (it isn't svelte like the analog, its boxy in a big-boxy way); quality of materials and craftsmanship, including case, is a notch lower. Why it comes with a spare battery I don't know. I hope it doesn't eat batteries like I do Gummi-bears or we're in for a short honeymoon.I measured a stock piece of cylindrical material used to test and calibrate measuring tools. I guess it's 1/8". Both the analog Mitutoyo and the digital iGaging measured identically: .1265. Now, I KNOW 1/8"=.125, but maybe that is operator error, or maybe the temperature of the materials, but at least both machines were the same. I also tried measuring using different parts of the iGaging caliper's jaws and the reading was identical the entire length. I'm not sure how much more you could ask for, other than the buttery smoothness of the Mitutoyo, but for what it costs, I don't think this tool can be beat.

Good for hobby use
My old, HFT caliper broke (the tab that holds the battery broke off) and I needed a new one. My best friend works for Mitutoyo and eventually I might get the real deal, but for now, something affordable needed to suffice. I purchased this and compared it to the Quinn caliper from HFT ($50) and decided to go with this. Not sure if I'm just getting old, but I really prefer the larger display which allows you to read it from weird angles. It seems to be consistent and accurate enough for my needs. The larger CR2032 battery is also appreciated (compared to my old caliper).

Grate caliber.
Looks and feels like a quality tool. Very accurate, simple to operate. You need to consider the battery issue: the device consumes battery even when it is turned off (similar to other calipers).Although the battery has a high voltage - 3V, it is recommended to remove the battery when the device is not in daily use.Compared to mitutoyo, the ampere consumption per hour in this device is 4 times higher than Mitutoyo. Despite all this, it does not affect the measurement quality of the device.

Probably the lowest cost decent new caliper
This isn't the cheapest digital caliper out there price-wise, but when you factor in a certain minimum level of quality that you would want from a precision measuring tool, the price of the iGaging EZ Cal is hard to beat. I didn't pick this on a whim, but chose it based off of various online reviews, and I can happily say that I wasn't lead astray.I didn't actually expect to use it much so soon after purchasing it, but having opted to start design of a PCB yesterday, partially based off something pre-existing and available components, I've used it extensively already measuring various features and parts, and have been quite impressed overall. So first things first: The case is quite nice with an easy to release latch. The hinges aren't part of the molding, but are made from a different material which presumably is something with low fatiguing properties and glued in place on each of the case halves. There is protective foam on both sides, as well as a foam cutout which snugly holds the caliper in place. A minor annoyance is that the cutout isn't glued in place, so I often partially pull it out when removing the tool. Not a big deal as I can glue it in place, but it would be nice if the manufacturer did. I wouldn't expect the case to hold up to too much abuse, but precision tools should always be handled carefully anyway. The tool itself is quite nice overall. Perhaps not at the level of refinement of the Mitutoyo standard-bearer, but performance is good. It holds its relative position and tracks very well. Closing the jaws after various measurements, it always ends up back at 0 exactly. They're also quite sturdy because I can't force the jaws closed enough to drop below zero. The display is very large and super easy to read. I haven't used it yet, but I do appreciate the inclusion of the fractional inch mode. There are two minor complaints as far as the caliper goes, and one of them is the thumbwheel. It's a bit sloppy and loose which is most notable during engagement, where rather than engaging the bar in between the two wheel ends, it actually makes contact with one of the wheel ends and then sloppily pops into place. It's not a deal breaker by any means, but it is an example of a lack of refinement, and something that I doubt would have any noticeable affect on manufacturing price if it was improved. The other thing is the depth rod, its groove, and retaining screw. The tolerances here seem a bit unnecessarily excessive, so the rod can wiggle around quite a bit when extended. Again, not a deal breaker, but there is room for improvement for what is otherwise quite an impressive tool at a fair price. If my livelihood or hobby depended on frequent usage of a caliper, I'd probably go with a Mitutoyo, but for personal and intermittent use the EZ Cal fits the bill very well, and leaves enough money left over in my pocket to spend on some other types of tools.

Great quality, great price
Just as advertised, this is high quality and high precision caliper, works great for guitar maintenance and repair with steady accuracy to 0.001 inch. Great product.

Perfect
Dial calipers are usually very expensive. This one was quite cheap. When it arrived and I tested it, I noticed how smooth and precise the measurements were. For almost half the price of the more expensive dial calipers, this is on par with them.

High quality, consistent readings, easy to use.
For the price its hard to find a comparable unit that provides the accuracy, ease of use and quality as this unit.

22 months with no issues, customer service surprising helpful considering the price.
I have had the pleasure of owning these calipers and using them for handloading rifle ammunition for 22 months now, they've always been repeatable and reliable, and always passed any calibration checks ive put them through (to an acceptable level for a 6inch Vernier). the quality leaves very little to be desired for the price and when i finally did run into issues with erratic reading and trouble zeroing, one phone call to California and they walked me through the steps to troubleshoot. whether they quit on me or not, for $50ish you're never going to find a nicer feeling and smoother operating set of calipers. will certainly buy again if these do end up failing me.90% the feel and performance of the reputable mitu'swell under 50% of the price.100% my go-to for home and hobby use.

Useful and feels trustworthy for an occasional user
I only use it once in a while, so want it to remain in good condition and not lose fidelity when stored - the better quality case helps with that too. So far it's done that well - I'm by far no expert but feeling it has some weight to it and the moving parts don't wobble or jerk but move smoothly, that unlike the [identical looking] $5 knockoffs can sense it really is better made and of good quality steel and other parts.Note for others: if like me it is not used for longer periods do close the jaws AND lock (firm but not over-tight) the slider when stored.

Seems very accurate and easy to read
It has its own box, its also very accurate. I test this by running it up and down the scale quiet fast 2-3 times in a row, if it lands at zero after that then this is generally a good test (it means it wont lose count as your moving it).Ive read the reviews before buying it, and they said it was a good unit, with the above test i can confirm it appears good. Very easy to read display.
