Really fun for kids...and sort of fun for adults too
I bought this as a gift for my 2-year old niece, who has shown a lot of interest in learning to write (but is obviously still a little young to have much success with it). She really enjoys playing with this and raising the metal balls, although she will need to get a bit older before she can use this to its full potential. I was happy to find a unique gift that she didn't already have!As some of the other reviewers noted, some of the metal balls can get "stuck" when they are raised, but I think this is intentional so that the balls don't fall back down if a child is drawing but also moving the pad around a lot. Plus, as an adult, it's actually fun and soothing to pop the metal balls back down (it sort of reminds me of the sensation of popping bubble wrap).

Perfect, quiet busy board
I bought this for my toddler to keep him entertained in the car, and it's been absolutely amazing. Instead of fighting to get him in the car seat, he's excited for car rides so he can play with this car-only toy. He loves tracing the letters and then pushing the metal balls back in to do it again. My only complaint is that the pen is not attached to the board, and I worry about him accidentally taking it out of the car and losing it. Or the frustration that ensues when he drops in on the floor during a drive. I believe they also make a version with numbers, too.

Grandkids Enjoy
I bought this for my 3-year-old grandson. When it arrived, I debated returning it as I wasn't sure he was going to like it. Lo and behold, a year later he is still enjoying it and his younger brother does too.

Is a nice pair/second set for the lower case letters
We have both the upper and lower case letter sets so each girl gets her own but they can switch and share and practice both kinds of letters.

Three year old loves this
I originally bought this for my 5 year old but my 3 year old uses it more often. I've been trying to find various ways to help my boys with practicing writing their letters and this has been an excellent purchase. I sometimes will sit there and trace the letters myself. Parent and kid approved! :)

Our friend's 3 year old is awestruck with this and spends a lot of time with it. Absolutely loves it!

Looks nice....
Looks nice but not practical. Little hands hold the board and accidentally press down on the beads. Letters should be further away from the edge.
