1 Pattern Notcher,Precision Watchband Notching Pliers Watch Strap Leather Tool

Bought this to notch leather pieces so I can line up the stitching between parts. They do a wonderful job, the build quality is excellent, the spring is robust and the cutting edge works great. It took me a lot of searching before I found these and I almost bought a notch punch meant for ID cards before I ran across this item in my search.

The tool worked generally well, and it was sharp. It is cheap Chinese quality, not high-end quality. I later saw it much cheaper on the market.

Very helpful if you need great results

I bought this tool and also a nice, thin leather ladies watchband from Amazon. The watchband needed to be notched where it attaches to the watch, I very carefully marked the new watchband where it needed to be notched. When I put this tool over the end of the watchband and squeezed it, the leather was pushed out of the tool instead of being cut. I tried very hard to hold the leather from being pushed out, but it was pretty futile and all I accomplished was messing up the leather watchband somewhat. I ordered this tool because its product description is " Pattern Notcher, Precision Watchband Notching Pliers Watch Strap Leather Tool " . Sounded ideal for what I needed. I had to use a nice sharp Xacto knife (did a nice job), after being frustrated with this tool. I intend to return this item for a refund.

I've never left a 1 star review. My patternmaking teacher warned us not to buy a cheap pattern notcher. This is a cheap, incredibly annoying pattern notcher. The picture is double thicknesses dot/ cross paper. As you can see there are hanging chads everywhere. If you try to pull when you notch, it frequently rips the paper.
