Sandalwood Shaving Soap

I've used many brands and none can compare with the consistent close shave I get with this product. Feels and smells good - great investment in my face.7/22/14I've been using the product for almost 2 month now and I'm still very happy with the quality of shave I get everyday. I did put the puck into a shaving mug after a few days of "working" with the tin to whip the lather. I believe the tin would be good for traveling - load up your brush and whip in a separate mug/glass ect. Yes, it is expensive, but I believe the product is worth the extra $ spent.

Hands down the best shave soap I've used since transitioning to this style of shaving about a year ago. It lathers super well, applies fairly thick, stays thick on your face during the shaving process, and doesn't dry too fast. Probably the best shave I've had in my entire life. I'm not really a fan of shaving but definitely look forward to each shave with this soap. I will be ordering again. As others have referenced, if it lasts 6+ months, it is more than worth the price.

This is a great shaving soap that lathers easily and provides slickness and cushion comparable to the other high end soaps and I like the fact that it is vegan base, although I like using tallow base soaps as well sometimes I would prefer vegan base to get that "clean" feeling after shaving. The scent reminds me of the typical young man colognes type and is not overpowering. It is a hard soap puck found mostly in veggie base shaving soaps. I would recommend this but I deducted a star due to the container it comes in which leaves no room to lather and difficult due to the small diameter of the puck measuring 2 1/2 inches in diameter and 1 1/4 inches tall, I would prefer a larger diameter and shorter soap and enough room to make a lather in the container. It is clearly not designed to be lathered in its container so what I do is take the soap out of the container and place it in a lather bowl, wait until it is dry and place it back in the container which is made of a thin aluminum. I received mine with dents all around the aluminum container which is something to consider if you plan to give it as a gift, I would have most likely returned it if I bought it as a gift for someone else. I don't know if it was shipped this way by the vendor or if it was damaged in transit. I plan to get the Sandalwood version from another vendor and see if it typically comes with dents on the container due to the shipping from Germany to the US or through local transit which could have been easily prevented if it was packaged with enough protection and shipped in a box. It may be a good idea to contact the vendor first and ask about the condition of the container before you make a purchase if presentation is important for you. I bought the soap for myself and did not want to go through the hassle of returning it. I would have liked to have gotten it in without the dents unless it was on a scratch and dent sale for less. It's a good thing the soap itself performed well that I would buy it again and would recommend it to others but would let them know about the container it comes in, hope you find this review helpful.Update: Have had this since February 2016, it is now September 2016 and I am not even halfway through the soap, although I use other soaps and creams in rotation it is still one of the longest lasting shaving puck around. It is a hard puck and doesn't take much to make a great lather with a brush.It may seem costly at first but it is worth every penny due to its long lasting puck but best of all the performance is just great, it smells good also and provides a nice slick lather and cushion.It is in my top 5 among over 50 different soaps and creams, will definitely repurchase when I run out.

It has a mild pleasant scent but it's overprices by 2 or 3 times.I bought this because it is supposed to be mild but I cannot continue to use it because it causes irritation similar a mild sunburn.There are much better products than this. If you are looking for a great soap try something by WSP.I have 2 of those and they are fantastic.

The best shave soap I have ever used to date, but my only complaint is the can its too small making it hard to lather. If they would just flatten it out or widen it a bit it would be perfect. The amount in it is good and its very solid so it should last a while its also is easy to remove from can if you like using a shave bowl.

This stuff is below average, the performance just isnt good compared to the other stuff in this price range. It also is very drying and has a burning sensation on the skin.
