Men's 13-Inch Loose Fit Multi-Pocket Work Short

So I measured my waist and my hips with a tape measure. Waist: 44 Hips: 42. I normally wear Levi's (36x30) at my hips, so I ordered size 42. They arrived in size 42, which was correct. But when I put them on at the hips, they are way too large, like, I can fit a softball between my body and the shorts' waistband. When I pull them up to my waist, they are just a bit loose. SO, my figuring is that they are sized a bit more than 2 inches larger than reality. I'll send them back and get a size 40 to see what happens. I'll review those as well so you can see my results. I'll also not be ordering relaxed fit 11" inseam instead of loose fit 13" inseam. These loose fit 13" inseam feel/look like I'm wearing my mother's culottes, as they end 3 or 4 inches below my knees! Nothing wrong with that--just not my tempo... EDIT: I actually tried different sizes on at a big box store; I found that 38 waist relaxed fit 13" inseam fits best. Just a little bit of extra wiggle room. Again, I measure 42" at my hips, and the size 38 sits on my hips just right. Otherwise, Dickies make fantastic affordable shorts and pants! Tough as nails, and comfortable (once you figure out your size). I'm fairly rough with them; skateboarding serves as my quality test, and Dickies last forever. I'm having to figure out my size because I'm buying my first new ones ever; I've always just bought them at thrift stores before, so I never really knew what I was getting, just looking for the Dickies tag and trying different ones on until I found the ones that fit.

Best shorts I EVER OWNED. ¾ length on me and LOOSE, just like I like 'em. And they wear like IRON. Super comfy too. Maybe "Work Shorts" but I wear them every day. Hiking too.

These are cool shorts, comfortable, Big, Baggy, but the only problem is the belt loops, absolutely HORRIBLE! Impossible to get my belt to go through twice to put the extra through. So tight, why would anyone design belt loops like this? Fix this problem and we’re good. You will need a belt with these, unless you order two sizes down. They run EXTREMELY LONG AND LARGE. But very comfortable and if you have dogs or cats, might want to stay away from the black pair. It’s a fur magnet, and order plenty of lint rollers along with these shorts, you will definitely need them. Also one more thing, the button, change that to a normal button please, damn thing keeps coming undone. It’s the little things that really hurt these shorts. Pockets are decent. Cell phone pocket on thigh is cool.

By far the best shorts money can buy imo. I really wish these came with a button instead of the slide like back in the day, but you still can't beat Dickies quality, appearance, and durability.

I just realized my last pair (same size, same color) was bought over 5 years ago. They may be a little out of style, but when a piece of clothing lasts 5 years of being a mechanic, don't settle for less. Serious, I wear these twice a week, 10 months of the year. They are my go-to on weekends and outings. I wash them every 1-2 days of wear, and the old pair was awesome. 5 stars just for a $35 pair of shorts (back then) lasting longer than any pair of slacks or jeans I own. My current gripe: These are outta style homie. They're big, like 99 JNCO's big. They waist is small. I am a 38 waist in all my other jeans, and a 40 in dickies. They also have very small belt loops, so you'll have to forgo the studded belt. (yes, I still have mine) So yes, they have a quirky fit, but they feel amazing. This actual pair had a horrible smell from the starch or something; a few washes or campfires will take care of that. The cell pocket is still gigantic, and my favorite of any of the 'cell-pocket' on clothing. The color on the Navy is very accurate to the picture too. So ya, I'll keep wearing them just cause I'd rather only buy clothes every half-century. But I'll wear these like basketball shorts: only when I ain't out to impress anybody, and necessity must trump style.

I usually get these at Walmart but I have been taking care of my elderly mother for a month so I decided to buy them on Amazon. I normally wear a 38 or 40. I decided to get the size 40. Wow, I could not even button them they were so tight, and it wasn't just the waist. They felt tight in the hips and legs. I was stunned at how off they were. They fit more like a 34 than a 40! It literally makes no sense for them to be so off. I will go to Walmart from now on. At least I can try them on before buying.

Figured the 15 seem was too long so I ordered these 13 inch ones. I’m over 6 foot and these still hang about 5 inches below the knee. They are almost to the point of women capri pants. I wear a 42 Jean and ordered these in 46 and they fit just right. They do run super small. Just beware of them being super long.

Good old school shorts by Dickies. definitely size up for a more relaxed fit as they fit like a suit trouser. Very nice

I’m a bigger man and buying any sort of pants or shorts online can be a game shoot. These were perfect! Perfect fit in perfect style for exactly what I want it. Always a big fan of dickies.
