SwissGear 1900 Scansmart Mini/Slim Version, Fits Most 13 Inch Laptops and Tablets, TSA Friendly Backpack, Black

I bought this primarily for travel to replace another backpack I had used over 12 years. This worked really well! It is not too big or too small or too heavy and fits easily under the seat on an airplane. I also appreciated the strap across the back which allowed me to hook it over the handle of my luggage. The construction seems sturdy, and even the interior fabric seems like it will hold up well. (I returned another brand because the interior fabric was quite flimsy feeling). The grab and go handle on the top also seems very strong. The 4 compartments held quite a lot (ipad, 2 books, toiletries, electronic accessories, even a change of clothes). I used the small one for charge cords, ear buds etc - things I needed to access frequently on the trip. There are extra pockets on the inside to help keep everything organized, and extra loops etc for attaching things if needed. The outside pocket held a 2+ cup metal water bottle securely. Overall, a great purchase! I will try and update if my opinion changes after I’ve used it awhile.

I bought this pack for a trip to Europe. Wanted something to use on planes, trains and ferries. This was the 3rd one I tried. Girls you will know what I mean when I say the larger ones were like a woman trying to wear men's jeans. You could do it, but it just don't feel right. This backpack seems like it was designed for a woman. It's narrower and fits at the small of my back where it should for both comfort and support. I used this on my 12 day trip and even though it was the first time in my life I wore a backpack (I am in my 60's and 5'5") I loved it. The weight seemed evenly distributed and the straps did not pull and bind. The small front compartment was great for a memo book, maps, pen and highlighter and my passport. The larger compartment held 2 changes of clothes easily with room to spare. The back compartment has a 14" computer sleeve and a tablet sleeve. I took my tablet only so used the other for travel guides, magazines, etc. There was also a small compartment where I stashed my single serving size snacks for easy access. The 2 water bottle sleeves were very handy also. Sometimes I stashed my glasses case in one as we were inside/outside quite frequently. i would not have wanted a bigger backpack as I am a packer. The more room I have, the heavier I pack. The padded straps and padded ventilated back made this a perfect fit. Highly recommend to anyone, but especially you girls.

The size is perfect for carry-on with weight limit. It is light enough with little preload but large enough for a small laptop and other stuff. There is luggage strap. The retention belts are important for me as don't like buffy bags. Side pockets are deep enough for most water bottles. Pocket design makes this bag quite versatile. Due the weight, there is not mach padding for laptop but it was designed in such way there is a gap for hanging small laptop so it will not touch the bottom. But I would put something there to the bottom. Just in case. Expecting a good durability from SwissGear. As to any bags: don't overload.

Great organization, solid build quality. Punches way above its weight for the price. Holds a 20oz insulated water bottle with ease. I wish the glasses pocket was felt lined. Back storage holds my laptop, iPad 11”, and notebooks with ease. Center larger storage holds my rain jacket and other gear. Front pocket holds keys, chargers, cables, and other needs. Only complaint is that they didn’t have the color I wanted, so settled on basic black

I bought this Swossgear 1900 mini in beige for $40 on prime day. For that price it feels like a decent value, but you could pay the $85 if you really want it. Overall I like this backpack a lot so far, particularly it's size, feel, and look. It's advertised as a woman's backpack but I don't give a ****. I am a man, 6' tall, with large size shoulders but slim waist. For laptops and devices and a few knick knacks, it's perfect. Big back packs tend to annoy me and get in my way, especially when grabbing something out of the car, or going through a narrow opening, or tight crowd, or take up leg space under the table... Not this backpack, this backpack is a reasonable size that doesn't overemphasize your proportions in any one dimension too much when worn. The material is decent, a kind of mid -range nylon, the pockets are good, the right amount of pockets in the right places, with detailed compartments in the pockets. The stitching looks questionable. That's my only concern. Also the laptop compartment doesn't fit with my laptop in a dedicated sleeve. Even for a MacBook air. There's 2 strange rectangular holes on the small front compartment, deliberate, no idea what they are for, I guess for rain water to enter? And the zippers could be smoother. The plastic strap ends/loops for the shoulder straps are... Interesting... The carabineer looks cool, but I wouldn't put anything too heavy, probably not a bottle of water, maybe a small, light portable speaker or utility knife. Over all I'm satisfied at $40.

As long as you don't overstuff it, it fits under the seat on Icelandic Air, and counts as a personal item. Which is more restrictive than US domestic airlines. Took it on a recent trip to Alaska with no problems. Very durable.

This is the best backpack I have ever bought. I don't know who the designers are, but I would love to shake their hands. I bought this bag after my old bag ripped, so I decided to invest a bit more money into this one. I got the black one with I like because it looks nice and fits the look of a premium backpack. This backpack was small, and I knew that, but I must say the storage inside is amazing. It has compartments for my laptop and iPad; both fit in just that one. It also had a big main compartment where I was able to fit a lot of books. That was not all because it has one more larger main compartment and a top kind of hidden smaller compartment for a charger or anything. All of the pockets were super easy to access, and it was good to learn that they fit my every need. After using it for a while and putting it through a lot, it has not broken in any way, making it the most durable backpack I have ever owned. Overall, I love the black fabric color and how versatile all of the openings and compartments are. For a tech backpack, it can sure do a lot more. I love this bag and would recommend.

I’m a full time student so I use this backpack at least 30 hours each week during the spring and fall semesters and it’s been holding up great so far. I’ve used it in total for a few months now. I really like how everything is compartmentalized, I don’t have problems looking for anything small. I also really like the padding for my laptop. My favorite thing about this bag and the suspended straps. I had a jansport before and it was great and I still like it but it kills my back having on for a long period. This bag doesn’t give me that problem, it almost feels weightless. I only have one complaint, it’s a little awkward getting wide binders out of the bag. The bag is wide at the bottom and slim at the top so yes it can hold wide binders but the corners of your binder will always catch the top of the back pack as you’re pulling it out. I know it’s a “mini” but still something to think about if you have a lot of wide binders. Overall, it’s a great bag and I’ll probably stick with Swiss if the rest of their products are this good.

Perfect size for airplane travel as a personal item.

It is as described. A smaller version of it's big brother the 1900. Good storage, and perfect for day to day office use for example, but you may want something larger as carry on luggage for anything more than a day or two away. Fits over a suitcase trolley strap perfectly and won't tip it over. Holds my 14inch laptop - just, plus a smaller 13.3in laptop or tablet. So far, so good.
