Everything seems to need batteries nowadays. Toys, clocks, remote controls, mice and so on. It’s so tempting to buy the battery packs you see in pound shops or on markets, but they don’t last long. If you work out how often you have to change these batteries in your equipment, you soon realise that they are not all that cost-effective.Buy big brand names from supermarkets and the like and you have to take out a second mortgage. It can work out a lot cheaper to buy rechargeable batteries. However, rechargeable batteries have a lower voltage output and some devices won’t work with them.This box of 36 alkaline batteries falls in the middle of the price range. A lot more expensive than the pound ones but a lot cheaper than big brand ones. Alkaline batteries generally last a lot longer than the cheaper zinc ones. I can’t say how long these batteries will last as I haven’t had them long enough.What I can say is that they handle a heavier load than most. When you put an electrical load on a battery the voltage generally drops. This is known as internal resistance within the battery. I tested a couple of these batteries with around a 500mA load and the voltage only dropped by 3% which is very good. The same test on a pound shop battery resulted in a 32% drop! So, with a little bit of confidence, I can say these batteries will last a lot longer.Overall, so good, I bought more. Hope that helps.

These were rubbish compared to the Amazon ones I had. I actually did an experiment using these in one unit and the Amazon ones in the other two units. The units were just battery powered lights in my window at Christmas. These ran out five hours before the Amazon ones.

I used these batteries for a bluetooth probe I have in my hotbin, lasted 3 days, not impressed will be going back to Duracell and sending these back.Update:Company have been in touch with me and bent over backwards to address the problem, giving me the option of a refund or replacement batteries. I decided to go with replacements as I understand that I might just have been unlucky and had a bad batch. I will update this later when new ones arrive next month. Thanks Rose for your excellent coms.Further Update.I have indeed received replacement Batts for my dud ones(Many thanks Rose) I have had success with the original order where a last set I put in are still going after 30 days of usage on my Bluetooth temp monitor, so I am impressed with the brand, thank you again for fixing my initial bad luck with your brand. Great value and excellent quality batteries. I keep buying AAA batteries for various home appliances, remote etc, but my electric pepper mill grinder is really hungry for energy with its motor, light and I'm using it every day a lot in my kitchen, these batteries make it work as new and still no sign of giving up! Wish I found them earlier.

So initially I was impressed by the packaging and the guaranteed for life note in the box. I threw these away and the next day tried to use the batteries in a flashlight. But they did not work, I tried all the batteries and none worked. Thankfully my one star review prompted the customer services team to contact me who sent me a new set free of charge. New set are working! And I have kept the customer services contact details this time. Just have to see how the longevity of them goes now...watch this space!

Not impressed and won't buy again.

I ran out of AAA batteries when using my laser level for DIY work. These were ordered and arrived quickly and are great value. They seem to work as well as my usual brand and are a fraction of the price.

Cheap batteries, but don’t last too long so don’t get them for high power consuming items. Good for small things like remotes or computer mice. Was provided a refund without question, so excellent customer service.
