Excellent ANC. Amazing sennheiser sound
I have these and the Sony XM4.Very different sound characteristics in comparison to Sony. The latest are more bassy while these sound more balanced with characteristic Senheiser tunes. The only downside that it’s not USB c.

Promises alot but fails to deliver.
After some firmware updates this has improved from 1 star. They have fixed issues with high pitched tones and the majority of disconnects. Its micro usb not USB C! Unfortunately.Works well now very comfortable, use everyday for work.

fantastic sound quality
I wanted ANC headphones and got these as a present. And frankly at first I wasn't impressed with ANC so I got Bose QC45. I can compare both now. On a musical front sennheiser is really well balanced and clear. ANC makes the environment dead quiet. Don't get me wrong it does do very little to usual loud sounds like speech or traffic. It lets it through, but it blocks the small white noise like an arcon or computer fan, not too loud TV in the other room. Things like that. And it does it very well without impairing sound quality and when there is quiet it is quiet. In comparison QC45 has an aggressive ANC attempting to block off as much as possible. The price for it is a constant white noise hiss in the background and a bit flat sound profile. The build quality seems to be fine, the top arch cushioning could be softer, the ear pads are good and soft. I have rather big ears so it is a bit tight but not uncomfortably tight. They are also probably the lightest ANC headset in this price range. Bluetooth connection is stable, I had no problem moving around the house (not a big house).Micro USB is definitely a shortcoming at this price point.By far the most annoying feature is the power button integrated into turning the right earcup flat. Not only can it be accidently turned off whenever you take off the headphones, but it can't be balled up and thrown in the bag, because they stay powered on. Also unless they are zipped in the case they can accidently turn on while you carry them. That is an oversight.Pros:Clear and balanced sound profile, touch controlunobtrusive ANC, quiet means quiet, no hiss, no static noise.comfortable ear pads, lightweight, good battery life, option to turn off ANC.Cons:awkward power button, microUSB,cushioning could be softer on the arch.Bottom line:If you need ANC for work in a cafe, airport or noisy office, QC45 or sony MX5 is your choice,if you want a platform for higher quality music experience this is a really good option.
