How do you heat the meals up if they don't come with heaters?

What are the current production dates?

Hello Greg, We buy the pouches right from the manufacturer, and get the latest lots available. We usually have to buy several different lots of each item, to get enough to meet demand. Right now the Beef & Chicken Combo - 18 Pack contains 6 different items. Whats is the pull date?

The official shelf life of MREs is 7-10 years when stored at 70 deg. F (according to the Natick Research Labs MRE Shelf Life Chart). The manufacture date is shown in a Julian date code, which consists of 4 digits together. The first digit represents the year of the manufacture date. The next 3 digits represent the day of the 365 day year. So, for example, the 8056 digits represent the 56th day of 2008). You can find the Julian Calendar on-line, to interpret the date codes.

Can you eat these cold or do they need to be heated up?
