A Must Have for High End Espresso Counters
It's definitely an expensive device, but compared to anything else on the market there really is no comparison. I rarely use anything other than the standard mode, but the auto-tare functions do come extremely in handy when dialing-in shots or from moving from one shot to the next quickly. I've poured enough coffee over this to have broken any other scale I've worked with, and effortlessly clean it off without fear of getting water inside due to the hood like lid design. The highlight really is the lighting speed at which it registers liquid flowing into your cup, it might as well be real time readings as I can hit a perfect extraction weight every shot without thinking. Only downside is the limited footprint of the device (I still comfortably use a Hario V60 on it, though it's not recommended), but given this is designed for espresso shots it will fit anywhere and under any machine. Acaia does sell a sort of extension piece that sits on top to allow things like full portafilter handles to rest easily, but given I single dose into a dosing cup I have no need for that.

Amazing espresso scale
OK this scale is really expensive but it is also very amazing. It seems to be very well-made and it is flawless in the detail of weight and timing. I’m not going to go into all the features which are readily available online and well-known but I would certainly buy this again and I’m already at the point where I can’t do espresso without it. Highly recommended quality device.

Great quality, not perfect
Fantastic quality and acccuracy. It is especially designed for espresso, since it is small and thin enough to fit under any cup on an espresso machine. Its small size doesn’t allow a very large cup or container to sit on top of it and still be able to see the readout. Pour over is made a little more difficult because of this. It has a lot of features but they aren’t super intuitive out of the box. It also requires usb to charge it, which may be annoying for some people. Its very high price and learning curve keep it from 5 stars in my mind

No accuracy
lately, I don't see an accurate weight number even though I have tried to optimize it. I bought an alternative to finishing my job. Please guide through the return and refund process.

Setting The Bar!
It’s EXPENSIVE. But if you’re looking at premium scales then it’s likely that’s a back burner concern and the only con that I would have.Otherwise it’s like all the positive reviews: super responsive, accurate, fits under my naked portafilter with a Gibraltar Glass with a little room to spare. I 3D printed a portafilter holder plate so weighing a portafilter and grounds wasn’t an issue for me. I also use it for pour overs and for every new batch of beans I do a log so I get consistent results. I like the addition of the calibration weight which is a very positive statement that they were serious in being a premium product.TL;DR: I’ve had this scale for a few months. No issues. Expensive but worth it.

Best Coffee Shot Scale and Timer Tool on the Market.
All over, a perfect coffee scale and timer! Easy to set up, use all the options, and to tare. It’s helped to dial in the best shots, since weighing the beans and grounds, and timing and weighing the output are critical.

compact and good physical design; worthless apps and additional 'smart' functionality; expensive
Honestly, I think what this scale indicates is that there is a market for a good looking espresso scale that would be 1/4 or less the price. Just eliminate the R&D for the absolutely garbage "suite" of random apps that are supposed to work with this thing. This feels like a kickstarter campaign trail of broken promises (regarding apps). Now, from a day to day use, I like the scale. It's the only size scale that fits my espresso setup and watching the timer and yield during extraction is great. Back to the apps... these were uninstalled about 3 days after setting up the scale since they were so useless. Now, here's another snafu.. my scale says 'UPDATE'. What I gather is I need to reinstall useless apps to update firmware but here's the frustrating part.. why? What is the firmware going to possibly do that the scale (how I use it) doesn't do already.. right, nothing. So, here's a tip.. a firmware update should be able to be user cancelled, something.. the scale is bricked apparently until this update is run.Bottom line.. this scale is way way too complicated and the apps are garbage. It's also beautifully designed physically and there's really no alternative to measure yield and time. If there was an alternative scale that looked really nice and measured yield and time with no 'smart' stuff and apps... I would have bought that.p.s. for the price of scale, update the 'face' with a piece of glass instead of plastic and a clear sticker!

Too Complicated
The scale is definitely made well, however I returned it as it is much too complicated and the software that I thought would add value has no user manuals to explain it. The reports don’t seem all that useful either especially considering what they take to input.Besides that my espresso machine has a timer that starts when I lift the lever which I find a better measurement than from when the first drop hits.So unless you want to spend a lot of time figuring out a scale instead of learning your machine/technique go for a simpler scale.
