Natural Mage: Demon Days, Vampire Nights World, Book 5

A great second installment to the series
Whereas I found Book 1 a bit slower paced, Natural Mage heats this up a bit in the Magical Mayhem world. Penny and Emery are teamed back together and continue to find out how important they are to each other while trying to deal with the threat that is the corrupt Mages' Guild. Each grow as individuals and as a couple, their magic complementing each other and producing amazing results in the magical world. I really liked that Reagan and Darius featured more in Book 2 because I fell in love with them in the Fire and Ice Trilogy. Emery is coming to realise that he needs Penny and therefore needs to stop being a douche canoe and get back into her life. Even Penny's mother became more tolerable - I wanted to throttle her in the first book. For Fire and Ice fans, Reagan is training Penny as only Reagan could - with insults and continuous threats, resulting in many laugh out loud moments. Emery is a strong character and Penny continues to be quirky, but likeable, which is normally really difficult to do without the character becoming annoying, but once again, Ms Breene handles it with finesse. I can't wait for the final book in the trilogy as this world has continued to suck me in.

I like the second book even better than the first!
The second book picks up a few months after the first. Penny is in New Orleans training to be a mage. At first Callie and Dizzy are training her, but it doesn't go well. Darius takes over the training with near disastrous results. Finally, Penny is paired with Reagan and the two develop an atypical training plan that works pretty well. Meanwhile, Emery is off thinking he's doing the right thing by staying away from Penny, but really he's just kidding himself. Thankfully, Emery finds his way back to Penny when he has visions of her in mortal danger (which happens pretty often once she’s paired with Reagan). Emery, Reagan and Penny are then stalked by the Guild, which leads to an inevitable battle and the three of them handle it with their own unique styles.I definitely liked this book better than the first. A big part of that is that we got to see a lot of Reagan in this book. She is probably one of my favorite characters, I love her attitude. Reagan and Penny are very different, but they work very well together. It looks like she will feature heavily in the third installment, so I am looking forward to starting that. I definitely recommend the book, and if you haven't read the previous trilogy, Fire and Ice, and you want to see more of Reagan, you might want to start that one as well.

Beautiful Character in Wonderful Fantastical World
Book 2 is a wonderful continuation of Penny Bristol's story. I looked forward every night to diving into her fantastical world and out of mine. I love Penny, she's such a hoot, and look forward to more of her story. I can't wait so I've read this installment several times. How many times will I have re-read it before book 3 is published? This story is rated R for violence and sexual content.Note that KF Breene interleaves this series with her Fire and Ice trilogy. Same world, same style of writing, same humor and page-turning suspense. I love both series. Which series you read first is a dilemma. I read the first two books of this series, Magical Mayhem (MM1 & MM2), and then read the three in Fire and Ice (FI1-3). There are spoilers doing it that way. But Penny makes appearances in Fire and Ice that doesn’t make as much sense without reading this book (MM1), so I recommend reading FI1, MM1, FI2, FI3, and then MM2, but if you don’t want to break up the flow of Fire & Ice, read FI before MM.

Good
Natural Mage continues Penny’s story, begun in Natural Witch, and set about six months later. This story builds on all the preceding stories, so make sure you’ve read both Reagan’s books, as well as the first book about Penny.Penny has been training with the Dual mages for a while now, but after some issues, she ends up training with Reagan.Reagan’s brand of crazy might be the thing Penny needs, but the guild are still wanting her for their own...A little romance, a lot of laughter, and a great deal of action, make this a book well worth reading. It’s a fast paced urban fantasy series, with an ongoing plot line and decent character growth.Urban fantasy lovers, and K.F. Breene fans alike, will enjoy this series for its humour as much as its engaging storyline.

More silly fun fantasy!
Look KF Breene is just fun to read if you are anywhere near my mild addiction to rather silly urban fantasy. Not the “High Genre LOR types (which I do adore also but each in it’s own time!) but the obviously magical denizens living right among happily oblivious types, how ever they are identified in the series (it has to be a series of course!) even if “borrowing”“Muggles or Mundanes for instance! Hell, this series so far has been going quite well, solidly adding depths to characters you barely noticed until they are reintroduced as players. It’s just a fun read, and Thanks!

Laugh your way through an adventure!
I love this series! So much action and detail! So much humor! Penny and Reagan both make me howl with laughter! The antics they get into while they go about destroying evil make it such a worthwhile read! It's a great place to lose yourself for a few hours.I seriously don't get the bad reviews. Maybe some people need to switch to another genre. This series rocks!

Intense!!
This installment had so much action. It was awesome getting to see the shifters, witches, and vampires at work. Penny is struggling after Emory but she idea steadily working hard to train and to defend herself against the mages. I love the progress she has made so far and ir was great to see Reagan more in this book. I loved the scene at Darius house when Penny was battling for her life. That whole scene was intense! Can’t wait for the next book. Have it cued up and ready to go!!

Exciting
This series is so great!! A special treat because the story line flows so perfectly from one novel to the next that a person does not need to try to piece the following book together with the previous. So many times in a series there are missing segments that ruin the continuity of the storyline. These do not have those missing sections and blend together seamlessly. Excellent reading and excellent story with plenty to keep your excitement level high!

My Mind is blown!!!😍💥
Edgy, Snarky, Eye Opening & Full Of Girl Power.😉😂😳😍💥🎉Natural Mage (Demon Days, Vampire Nights World Book 5)'Natural Witch' was amazing so you adjust your expectations for the 2nd book as it can't possibly live up to what came before right? Wrong, as K.F Breene clearly tore up that rule book & produced an absolute pleasure of a read in 'Natural Mage', its just Brilliant!!!😍Penny, our now confirmed 'Natural Mage', is training in New Orleans with Cassie & Dizzy, a Dual-Mage couple. She had met them previously when Reagan had taken her out of her hidey-hole closet after Penny had accidentally made zombie witches. As the months have passed it becomes clear that the 'normal' way of teaching a Mage isn't working for our girl. The only time she's ever felt normal was with Emery, but he walked away 6 months ago!!😢 Darius has to step in, after a mishap with a newborn Vampire, and invites Penny to dinner to reveal his plan. Fireworks, blind panic & death ensues .... Yeah, like I said Brilliant!! 😆😂Reagan & Penny combine to become training partners after the 'Dinner of Doom'!! 😂 The Vampire's need to heal & regroup. Powers need to resettle & Darius definitely needs to rethink his plans!! It's clear, thanks to Red's spying, that Mages are gathering in the Quarter, they're looking for Penny. The safest place for her is at Reagan's, believe it or not!! Best news of all, Emery has been making his way back to her, Finally 💙💕Throughout this book Penny is learning to trust her true allies-friends/family & ultimately herself!! Her biggest breakthrough comes by accident in a cemetery, the experience reminds her of how she should feel using magic ✨ This book sees the rise of the Natural Mage Penny is to become, she is a powerhouse that uses magic like no one else!! 🎉Penny's Mum, we learn her first name this time 🙌, has quite a small part in this book but her role is large, she is no less formidable than before, she even shuts Reagan up 😳 It's hilarious 😂This book focuses on Penny as she grows as an individual within the wider world & a Mage within the magical one. She is constantly playing catch up but she thankfully learns fast!! Her relationship with Reagan is clunky at first but soon becomes the smoothest, sibling-like friendship we've seen either of them have, They are hilarious together!!A truly brilliant, snark-fest of magical mayhem. Sassy girls with power to spare with their men at their backs, friends & family at their sides & danger all around. You can not go wrong with this book, well unless you don't read it, that would be SO wrong!! 😂Hilarious, Pulse Pounding, Steamy, Scary & a Shockingly fun read!! You must read this series, it's such a class act 🌟Debbie, 1970, UK

Getting boring
New protagonist and the book focuses on an "affectionate" pet name, stupid stand ins for swearing and ooh isn't he good looking rather than plot. Flicked across a lot of this to try and find something worth reading. Glad it was free.

Serious girl crush!!
Wow! It's usually the men i fall in love with when reading books but Penny and Reagan are so awesome they totally overshadow the men by far. This has got to be one of the most intense and funniest books I've read in a long time, it had me on the edge of my seat and laughing out loud the whole way through, Penny's is so endearing and honest you can't help but love her. Add to this the hot headedness and humour of Reagan and you have the best book ever. Really can't recommend this series and author enough. Fantastic and can't wait for the next one

Amazing... couldn't put it down!!
This installment in Pennys story is just amazing. It follows on nicely from the first book. You get to see some old friends from the original Fire and Ice books where we were first introduced to Penny.. you see her grow as a person and as a magic user. I was honestly laughing so much through this story. The characters are well written and their chemistry is just off the scale! It was fast paced from start to finish. I really can't wait for the next book, I have a feeling its going to be a blast.
