Review: parts missing.... REPLACED - addendum to earlier rating: As I said I contacted the manufacturer via the e-mail on the instructions. I did not ever get a response. HOWEVER just a couple days ago I received a package from the company with the necessary parts to make the lamp totally functional. Lamp is basically OK. The only problem is that it is missing one of the spring retainers on one of the arms. Therefore one spring cannot be used. They are a piece of plastic that screws onto a threaded screw. You can see where it has pulled off as there are remnants of plastic on the threads. The shipping box itself has large enough openings that it probably fell out. OH, and it says comes with a 13 Watt CFL Bulb, but it arrived with an LED bulb, which in my opinion is better.
Review: Sturdy Lamp. 95% Metal Construction. - It cost less than my last desk/drawing/work light and is way better. It's made of all metal parts, except for the thumb/wing nut style things you turn to tighten the small bolts at the elbows, the pegs that the springs are mounted on, and the table clamp. I recommend buying a solid metal table clamp for it. They're cheap on desertcart. Those and the on/off switch are the only plastic parts. Especially like that the little arm that holds the lamp to the end of the arm is what looks like stainless steel, since it gets turned a lot when you're working to get the best light angle. The lamp almost turns 360°, it will turn up but not straight up to the ceiling. Highly recommend this lamp. Super affordable, gets the job done, and high quality construction. I looked at LOTS of swing arm lamps that cost more but unless you're loaded $ no need for anything fancier. This is the best most cost effective lamp on desertcart at the time I bought it a few months ago. It's seen loads of up/down/forward/back/turning and still looks & feels new.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is the shade long / deep enough to fully surround a CFL bulb? CFL bulbs are longer than incandescents and stick out past the end of most shades.**
A: The shade is fairly deep on this 12022 swing arm lamp.  I use a standard incandescent 60 watt bulb with mine, and there is approx. 1" of air space from the end of the bulb to where the edge of the shade would intersect.  Another measurement is approx. 5" from the electrical contact in the socket base to where the edge of the shade would intersect.

**Q: Does the arm actually stay put, or does it sag after you let go like some other lamps?**
A: Both the arms and the base are really sturdy. The arm is adjustable, and where you drag it out and leave it, it just stays there. No sagging! I can pull the lamp by the head and move it around, and it stays where I leave it indefinitely.

**Q: I want to use the lamp with a base I already have.  The diameter of the base is 1/2 inch.  Would they work together?**
A: If you are referring to the socket base, the lamp has a standard screw type base, so a smaller socket would fit into the lamp with some considerable amount of rewiring.  If you are referring to the stand base, the tube diameter which inserts into the base is 1/2 inch in diameter.

**Q: are all 3 joints (near the base, middle and lamp head) adjustable? and can they all stay in adjusted desired position?**
A: I constantly move my lamps position around, using all 3 adjustable joints, and it stays where I put it without tightening any of the small nuts & bolts. I've never had to tightened those.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent product!... For the most part

The lamp pretty much has everything I am looking for. It is sturdy and durable, all of its pivotal points being made of metal. It holds its position well and the watt output is phenomenal. One of the most notable thing is how well it is ventilated. Other metal lamps I have used before would get extremely hot due to poor ventilation. That's not the case with this fantastic lamp. The clamp is made out of plastic and it is not as sturdy as the lamp itself but it does the job and it will not go anywhere once it is clamped well. Overall the lamp itself is great. But I took the liberty of buying lamp + light bulb (for some reason, it was cheaper with than it was without for some odd reason). Little did I know the light bulb was broken and shattered when I opened the box. I don't mind losing out on a CFL light bulb, but I do mind picking through broken glass bits and traces of mercury. It looked like the manufacturer just glued the light bulb box on the inside wall of the lamp box, which then came loose during shipping and was promptly destroyed by the lamp. That minor issue aside, I highly recommend this lamp.
