*~A Nice Surprise for This Old Crone~*
Brightest of Greetings My Brothers & Sisters, When I first opened the shipment and saw this book I said "That's it?" Upon browsing the book I was pleasantly surprised. Even though most of my candle magick books are far more advanced, I knew this would be a great book for my niece, who is a novice. It packs a lot for such a little volume. It has an excellent color magick section that not only deals with basic colors, but also with planetary association, astral & zodiac association, days of the week, timing by the moon, setting up an altar, spells, seasons, and the usage of oils, incense, and herbs with candle magick. It even has Azure Green's address & URL in it..lol! (A fairly good shop)If you are a novice seeking a starting place this book will help you on your path. If you have been around awhile this little book is a pleasant little reference. Walk in Love and Light, MorganaMagia D' La Luna[...]

Candle Magic by DJ Conway
I normally dont recommend DJ Conway because of her history being so off. But I do like her views on magic, how there is only energy and how people use it. This book is small and I do mean tiny. Alot of the book is dedicated to lists of correspondences but the spells that are included come with illistrations to show how to set up the spell and even what direction to move the candles. I would have like to see more on why the candles are moved but this is a vary tiny book as stated, so its ok.

Lots of information, easy to understand, great for beginners.
I wanted something that instructed me on how to do candle magic. I also wanted it to just give me the information with no extra frills like stories, etc. This book is exactly that. It is easy to understand and even has diagrams (figures) in the back of the book on how to set up the altar for each spell. It has a ton of information packed in a little book that is easy to carry around if needed. I love this book. This is a great starter book for anyone wanting to learn about candle magic. I highly recommend this book and will be checking out other books by this author.

Great for a beginner!
Great little book for beginners and for western type of candle lighting/magic. A lot of money is needed for these spells as you read along since there are tons of oils and stones, and herbs needed according to the author. Intention and simple ritual is probably enough, yet it is still great work and there is tons of great information she provides. The best thing is her advice on how to perform these rituals without any "negative" intent. Love that. I highly recommend this for a beginner :)

Short book and info readily available online
What else can I say, I am pissed when I have to pay for a book that is a 100 pages. In this case it's worse because the book is smaller than an A6 page o the author really reached to publish a book. Whatever the price it's too expensive.

Absolutely LOVE this book
Absolutely LOVE this book. It contains so much detail about candle colours, incense, oils, herbs. If you don't have one incense, it provides options for a replacement. Days of the week, moon phases and even hours of each day, this book tells you which types of spells are best performed during these times. So much detail in such a small book. I wasn't expecting so many spells to come alone with it, but what a great surprise. I would recommend this book to everyone and anyone.

Small but packed with information
Don't be put off by its title or its size, A Little Book of Candle Magick actually has more candle buring spells than most of the other well known books on this subject out there. She included tried and tested rituals already out there and added more variations. Conway explains everything you need to know about the type of candles, detailed info on the colours, astral candles, oils, inscence and herbs you can use, stones, lunar phases, days and magical hours are also given if needed. There is enough here to create your own spells but her candle magick rituals are very well planned out for you and include optional extras such as stones or herbs. She lists what candles, oils, stones and herbs may be needed with a few spells requiring a burning dish, papaer or nail for carving. The best correct phase of the moon is given as well as full explanation on anointing the candles and proceeding with the ceremony and some very simple spoken words. What I love about Conways book is there is no alternative Christian spells which kind of waste the pages of other books for most people. The spells are not overly wiccan either, no specific dieties are mentioned so it allows you to do this if you are not following any tradition or to easily adapt it to any magickal or spiritual tradition. The spells are in sections such as protection, healing or abundance and contain a good few options and types of spells for each one. No harmful candle magick is included here, Conway tells you which spells need to be used with caution and carefully. The only critisism I have is the diagrams of placing the candles on an altar for each spell would have been better with the instructions not at the back of the book. I also feel that some of the spells have alot of candles and it would have been nice if the symbolism was simplified to less candles or other options given perhaps. You will need at least a simple altar space to do the rituals, even if only temporary. Conway offers good simple advice on this if your new to the concept.
