For a 50 year old movie the special effects stand up to any CGI today. Worth a watch.

An old film, a little slow to get going but once it does it don't stop till the end, loads of old school film stars which will have you going "it's whosit from whatsit" a great what if type flim and lesson to listen to the to experts.

Haven’t watched for years , I really enjoy to watch with grandchildren and they really enjoyed it and ask what other films I use to watch back in the day .

.....even with bluray and viewed on a big tv, with the sound surround speakers on, it is a film that has not stood the test of time well.This was a big colourful spectacular disaster film, dominated by a massive roaring earthquake that hit you from all over with the aid of the Sensurround system. Even with the volume up so loud that it made the tv sound system cut out, nothing in 2014 can make up for the rather soggy soap opera story line. Getting the bluray was a nice nostalgic trip back to my teenage years, but I won't be bothering to watch it again.

This the Earthquake film that when you saw it at the Cinema, the wall's actually cracked due to the base sound being used at the time it was shown. This is also the original film which started all the other's following it. Don't forget this was made in the 70's. I thought it was excellent. A very good story line. Excellent character's played by decent star's. All in all a damn good movie. The special effect's are very good for their day. If you want action, you certainly get it. There are some funny moment's in it as well. Watch what happen's at the end of the car chase. It is still well worth a watch even today. You decide if you want to buy it. I think it's worth it. From 1974 comes this classic movie showcasing the stars of the time in the event of a major earthquake in L.A. before I.L.M. And special effects common nowadays, all the effect are done the old fashioned way. Great film

センサラウンドという言葉が当時あまりピンとこなかったのですが、映画館で体感して興奮しました。当時の興奮がよみがえりました。

Il film è un cult anni 70 assolutamente imprendibile. Per quanto riguarda la qualità tecnica del blu ray UNIVERSAL ha fatto come al solito un lavoro superbo utilizzando un master da negativo originale, ne risulta una visione pari a quella cinematografica ( ovviamente proiezione su pellicola anni 70 ) un po diversa dalle attuali proiezioni in digitale ma comunque non di certo inferiori anzi....
