Let It Sew (Southern Sewing Circle Mysteries)

Let it SEW
We enjoyed reading the book. As is our usual method of consuming these novels, my wife reads it, aloud, as we were traveling. This way, I get to get in on the plot, and it gives us something to discuss along the way. We found the cast of those who could have 'done it' interesting. There were a number of characters who have motivation to have committed the murder. It's fun to discuss the plot, what we like and dislike and who would be our choice of the guilty party. We have read all of the novels in this series, and this one did not disappoint. I must say the person who was finally uncovered was a surprise. Ms. Casey, if you read this review, YOU ARE THE AUTHORESS!! A note of the Cozy Mysteries that we choose to read. We enjoy the 'Cozy Mysteries' because the language is appropriate, there are NO SEXUAL SITUATIONS to be tolerated or to chuck the book, which we have done because what we thought were in the 'Cozy Mystery classification were NOT. These, if Nook or Kindle, get deleted from our devices, and if we purchase them in paper back, well they get the 'HARD recycle'. Amazon, thanks for offering this type of reading, they are appreciated.

Familiar Friends Find Murder at the Holidays
Toni Sinclair is busy at the Library getting ready for Holiday Book Extravaganza, when a force of nature, resembling Leona Elkin, takes over and signs her up for the annual Sweet Briar Christmas Decorating Committee. The reason? A new Christmas Grinch has appeared and it is up to the Southern Sewing Circle (a group of ladies aging from early 20's to 80's,) to get life back to tradition. Now this sounds like a delightful cozy book to read while sipping tea, but, I suggest you put your cup down when suddenly, a body is found through a clue found in a painting left from a recently deceased member of the sewing circle...was it murder? This series is as comfortable as a cozy sweater. You find you snuggle down into the tale and the characters are old friends. Sometimes it is quite sentimental which I loved as it was a tale woven around the holidays. Yet, there was a distinct bite with the Grinch. The ladies aren't always so sweet.I totally enjoyed this cozy murder mystery and look forward to future tales.

Headline
I read all 12 of the books in the series...it's a pretty good series, all things considered, if a tad overly sentimental in spots.

This was a light easy read with a little different plot
This was a light easy read with a little different plot. In the beginning of book, I was a little confused by the number of characters. But as I got into the story their relationship to the librarian/detective became more clear. I have read many of this type of story, but I was still not as good a detective as Tori. I hope to read another in this series soon.

Sweet Briar Christmas Cozy
This book is part of a series about a mystery-solving librarian. I like these stories because they are well-written solid cozys that are great for several hours of indulgent escape. This is probably not the best of the series but I enjoy a visit with Tori and her friends and fellow mystery solvers. Tori has a love interest and their romance is sweet and uncomplicated. If you are seeking pure, unstressful fun and escape you will enjoy this book.

A Good Cozy!
This is another of those charming Southern cozies that I like to read late at night. If you have read any of the other sewing mysteries, the characters are already in place. It is rather predictable. Tori is a delightful character as a young librarian in a small town. I found it amusing that everyone gets so upset over the Christmas decorations. I can escape for a while in a fantasy town of nosy ladies and people who all know each other and their business. I have read the other sewing mysteries, so I was able to figure out pretty quickly who the "bad guy" was. It just takes a while to get there. Read it and enjoy the ladies in Sweet Briar and the mess they get into this time.
