You can do better, but not for the price.
I admit I'm being quite critical, but despite this, there is a lot to like about these lights. I'll get the bad out of the way first:Reliability. Less than 24 hours after installing them, I had a small section showing "off" colors, as in blue wasn't working at all and everything else looked like the mixture was just plain wrong. I could beat up the integrated circuit chip next to that section and it would work again, temporarily... But eventually I just took it down and soldered in a section of leftover strip, and it seems to be working correctly now.Second, the microphone... If you like music loud or bass heavy, you may want to either look elsewhere or expect to rip out/replace the internal microphone. It just stops doing anything if the music is too loud, especially bass. For "party lights", that's kinda a big deal. It's a very very sensitive microphone and picks up on a lot, but to its detriment. Changing the sensitivity in the app doesn't help it to not completely give up if the music is too loud. It just doesn't do anything unless you turn the music back down.Third, and I almost dinged it another star for this.. the app continuously asks for location. For what? It works without it most of the time if you deny it, but sometimes it'll just refuse to let you do anything without giving it location. Ive spoofed mine, but most people aren't going to want to go through that trouble. Theyre lights, why do you need my location to tell the lights to do stuff?Onto the good. The ability to change colors for each section is very nice. The app misses out on a lot of flexibility, but the lights themselves are excellent. Having the lights create little dim tails as they chase around the room is awesome. I usually default it to "magic forward", the lights slowly change colors down the line. It's tough to explain but I'm certain video of the effect can be found. They look cool, and I do think these are fairly under-the-radar lights in terms of popularity/reviews. Yes, Im seeing issues, but I'm also seeing water resistant strips of individually addressable lights, 50 feet of em, for a pretty decent price. Can you find better lights? Of course, but not for this price. So I do give a nod of approval, but I'd suggest waiting to cut off any excess for a few days to make sure you don't have any bad sections so you can at least exchange em if you need to. You can do better than these lights, but you can do much worse. Overall, they get the job done and I'm happy-ish with em.Edit: 8 months later, still going. I run them 24/7. I turn them dark red for sleeping, but otherwise, they run constantly. No issues. I'll address what Amazon recommends I address in this review."Adhesion", no major issues. A minor issue is I had the power box hanging from the strip on the ceiling, which did eventually cause it to pull down a little. The solution was to use the double sided tape they provided to also secure the box to the wall, and I haven't had any issues since."Brightness"... Well, they aren't going to entirely replace your regular lights, but I doubt most people expected that. I normally use them as my primary lights when I'm relaxing, but if I'm doing things, I still need my overhead lights."Easy to install".. not really much different in these vs any other light strip. You unroll it and stick it. Pretty straight forward.I cut the adapter off and am now running it from a 12v battery that has a decently beefy maintenance charger on it. Power is not very stable here sometimes, and there is no window near where they're installed, so at least they keep me from being entirely cast in the darkness when that happens.Nothing has changed. I still recommend these lights. They've gone the distance so far.

STOP looking, this is the one you're looking for! <3
So I purchased 2 sets of these and let me just say that this is the whole package. From the chasing options, the brightness, the outdoor use, the remote, the bluetooth connectivity, and especially the customer support, you're not going to find a better LED rope light option in my opinion. Of all the stuff I've purchased on Amazon, this is probably one of my favorite purchases. The images I have included show my studio at a festival/retreat in October of 2020. The lights were bright enough to be seen from nearly every spot at the festival and I had people constantly asking about them. I also really enjoy that they're not that noticeable when they're off (see pic). I wired an additional outlet that's connected to a toggle switch so I can run the lights off of AC power as well as my power inverter in the car so they're on while I'm driving... I passed several law enforcement cars during my commute and didn't get pulled over but I'm in NC so I'd suggest checking your local laws to make sure that's legal in your area if you decide to go all out like I did...So I've been working on this "pandemic project" for about 7 months now. My goal was to create as much of an experience outside for festivals as it is inside. These lights just draw people in, especially with the chase option. I had musicians from the festival come up and ask about them as they could be seen clearly from the stage (about 100 yards away!).I used a low voltage stapler I picked up at Home Depot to CAREFULLY attach these to the studio and they held the lights in place beautifully, even while driving 60 MPH on the highway. I didn't bother using the adhesive tape because I honestly didn't want to chance it. The adhesive tape did feel better than the other lights I tried though.I tried several different LED lighting options (more expensive) and in all honesty, this is the one that had the options that I wanted and that worked. I tried the more expensive type (Miheal WiFi LED lights) first because of their length and they wouldn't even turn on. These had a thicker rubber coating on them as well.I had a small issue (my fault) and the customer support was second to none. I used to work in electronics retail management and haven't ever had a tech support be as communicative as this company was.I'm sure I'm not alone in trying to find a way to extend the lights so the power would be able to be extended and I found that the "18AWG Low Voltage LED Cable 3 Conductor White Sleeve in-Wall Speaker Wire UL/cUL Class 2 (100 ft Reel)" worked like a charm (that's how it's listed on Amazon). If I were to do that again, I would probably go with a smaller gauge wire though probably 20 - 22 AWG.I just got back from the festival and once I get a chance to recover, I'll be uploading a video of the lights in action. :) I just wanted to make sure to post this while it was still fresh in my mind.

Worth it
These are the bomb. My 14 yo wanted 'chasing tik tok' lights. That's exactly what these are. The 50 ft length was just a little more than we needed, hence the extra, but we'd rather have more than less. The remote & app are user friendly. You can make your own colors also. They also come with extra sticky tape. One plug has a double extension to sync all 50 ft. They 'chase' around the room. Wonderful!
