Works brilliantly. Just the right amount of sensitivity to ensure live wires and outlets are correctly identified. In addition, the two selectable levels of sensitivity if needed. I read reviews of similar products and some were so overly sensitive that they were effectively useless. This is an easy to use and invaluable tool.

Does the Job.

Really easy to use, had some kitchen recessed uplighters blow and didn't know if it was the electrics or the bulbs. Tested the fittings with the pen to show that they were live and so replaced the lighting unit and it all came on. Saved me a fortune on an electrician!

Tester

Detects voltage ok but overly sensitive on solid walls with mains wiring (indicates the whole wall as live! - not what my multimeter says). Happy for someone to explain why.

Detects mains and lower voltages as expected. The dual range is useful, especially for lower voltages. The on/off button is on the side which is good as my last voltage tester had the on/off button on the top and was always getting switch on by mistake. It is very sensative and fast to detect the presence of mains voltage. As usual you must test it on a known live circuit before use.

Great product I used it from since 2 yes working fine

I have owned a number of small pen style contact less voltage testers. I use them mainly to make sure that I do not have a live line when I tear into an outlet, or electrical box, or go to touch a wire end that someone else says they shut off at the breaker. Basically it is to make sure that I am not grabbing a live wire before getting shocked. All of them tend to be light weight, and they tend to break fairly easily as they get bumped around in the tool bag. So I do not go for the highest priced one, or the ones that have more features than I actually need. In the case of the Kaiweets Voltage Tester, it kind of hit a unique sweet spot; it was affordable, it seemed well made, and it was easy to operate. I liked that it had a power button to turn it off and on. Many other brands have the twist end that also serves as the battery compartment access access where sometimes you accidentally open the batteries instead of turning it on or off. The Kaiweets tester also will automatically power itself off if you forget to, so you will not go to use it and find it's batteries are dead. It is pretty straight forward with both a light up indicator and an audible beep when power is detected, and it will give you an approximate voltage level when you bring it near a live circuit. And unlike many of these it will let you know when the batteries are low, so you do not find out while you are trying to use it in the middle of a job. Does it work. Yes. Will it last forever? No. It's $12. If you need a high end one, pay more for one. Will it cover the needs of a DIY home improvement weekend warrior? Yes it will.

This NCV tester is of good quality and it's very easy to differentiate between a live and a neutral wire. At a glance you can know if the wire is live and it also shows the voltage strength in the form of bars. If by chance you can't see the screen of the tester you can hear the beeps which it emits to know if a wire is live. It even has an inbuilt led light to work in the dark.
