(110v version) Probably a two man job to install but works fine. Took about 30 minutes to fit after watching the video. I think the rubber wheel will wear out and lose grip at some point. Due to that, I disengage the wheel when lowering the boat and only use it to raise. Happy with the purchase; a full blown rig cost twice as much.

I'm very happy with the boat lift buddy. There was some difficulty installing it because of a V-bar welded to the uprights, but after a call they assured me if I could get the motor to the wheel it would work. And it did. Why did I wait so long.NOTE: 2 years later it's still great. A monster wind turned my pontoon lift into a parasail, and one of the casualties was the part that fits onto the lift frame. I called Extreme Max and spoke with Sarah who told me they don't sell that part separately from the install kit. But, she said she would send me the part at no charge, and she did. How often to we see this kind of service from a company. Thanks so much.

The lift is great when it works. However, despite removal during winter and storage in climate control unit, the “weatherproof” switch box corrodes quickly and stops working after just one or two seasons. This is the second time it has happened with my units.

The assembly went fairly well. They instructions are a tad vague but common sense will get you there.The instructions did not list all the tools needed but it honestly took about 30 minutes to install and it works great. I have a 5,500 pound Deckboat and a ShoreStation lift and it makes easy work of lifting the boat. No more struggling to crank up. I do think it would struggle with that size boat if your lift has a smaller crank wheel.Overall a great product for the money. It’s less than half the price of other lift motors. I’ve already ordered another for my pontoon lift.

Works pretty good and is much, much better than hand cranking the wheel. Installation was fairly easy and done in about 40 minutes with no assistance. Only time I've had trouble is when the wheel gets wet, causing the drive wheel to slip. Also, anyone operating the motor or anyone in proximity needs to be very cautious about pinch points. We had a hand get caught a few weeks after installation, very painful! There is no protective guarding to prevent this so use caution.

This was purchased as a replacement for one returned to the factory under warranty and the time it takes to get repaired and returned. (Now I have 2 units) It takes a little time to get it adjusted correctly so that it doesn't jump off the wheel, but once adjustment is done it works really good.
