Hydro Flask Bottle Sling - Small, Arctic

My intention was to use this on a future trip, but my son borrowed it for a day of skateboarding. He fussed and gushed over it like it was a set of new trucks. I'll probably give it to him. Hate it when I have to do that.

I like this, but wish there were a few things different about it. It makes carrying my water bottle so much easier! But, I have to take my water bottle out of the sling to fill it, or it gets water in it, which then dumps out onto you, as you go to drink out of the water bottle. It's also statted to smell like mildew. I wish the strap was removable. I'm not sure what the pocket is intended to hold, but it doesn't even fit an ID or debit card. I can really on fit folded paper bills into it. It would be nice if the pocket was more functional, and capable of at least fitting an ID/debit card. I ordered the black, and its more plumb colored, and grey, than black. The only parts that are black, are the strap, and the pocket on it.

I would make it with a removal carrying strap. I like to use this not only for easy transport/convenience, but to add greater protection and a bit more insulation for my bottle. I use this as my primary water vessel; therefore, I constantly have it sitting on furniture etc. The strap gets in the way with this type usage. It's a well made carrier although I think overpriced. You're paying extra for the brand which we all have come to trust and love.

I love the color "mist" - it goes well with my "Fog" colored Hydroflask. I love the usefulness of the strap. It is comfortable & adjustable. I LOVE that it has a little zipper & pocket on the side. I must have missed that when looking at it. Perfect to fit your i.d. or credit card while out & about. Or your meds that you might need to take throughout the day. I love it. My fiancé now wants one for his Hydroflask. The one thing that was a bummer for me (but not enough to take off a star) was that I bought a silicone protective sleeve cover for the bottom of my Hydroflask. Unfortunately if I have the sleeve on, it doesn't fit in the sling. Not a big deal though because the sling protects it as well. Just wish I could use them together. If you have a Hydroflask & take it everywhere with you, I would definitely invest in this sling! I might just buy a few more in different colors to match with my mood or outfit of the day.

The side pouch is useless bc it has ZERO give. Only a key or one credit card can get in there. It is a very sturdily made bag and looks like it can outlive an owner or two. It only holds your water bottle so good for a short walk when you don’t need keys or your phone or cash….which is almost never. I have my sons use these to carry their own bottles since I carry the other stuff

The quality and craftsmanship of the product is top notch. However, any water that somehow seeps into the sling is very difficult to remove and dry. The body of the sling has a dual layer of material and it looks like the intent is for it to be waterproof/sealed so that water can be just poured out. However, water can seep between the threads and get in between the layers and if you don't catch it quickly it will begin to smell. Great for occasional use where you can lay it to dry fully between uses, but in my case not suited for heavy everyday use.

Quality is just ok which is not saying much for the price. “ Brick”colored pocket is red doesn’t match which isn’t how it looked in the image but the entire pocket is frankly useless because I think you would struggle to fit a bill in it and even then you would struggle to fish it out. Everything seems glued together which worries me a bit about how well it would last. It does it’s job but I don’t think I would recommend. If I’d seen it in person I wouldn’t have bought it but it’s not so bad I would return it.

I'm happy but not thrilled with this product. It is well made and serves my purpose, so I'll hang on to it. That being said, I ordered a black sling. This is the "black" sling, which as you can see from the photograph, is really a blue/grey. It would be nice if Hydro Flask offered a true black sling... Gotta take a star for the misleading color.
