Opticron Binocular Tripod Mount for Binoculars +50mm OG & Amazon Basics 127cm (50") Lightweight Tripod with Bag

I honestly wasn't expecting the bracket to have been made from 1/4" metal, but it is. It's not steel, so I'm guessing it's an aluminium alloy, but even so it feels pretty sturdy, and there's not a hint of give in it with my 12x50 binoculars attached.Finish is okay, but not quite up with the best if I'm going to be harshly objective. So the black finish is complete, but not particularly smooth. The threads fit perfectly well, but their finish is a little rough. But the threads fit as they should without unpleasant graunching, so I'm not complaining.One issue I have with this bracket is the solid plastic plate that the camera makes contact with when connected; It's quite a slippery material, and as a result, the binoculars can rotate when mounted. Not a big problem, but worth mentioning.I've tried this bracket with my Olympus 12x50 and my son's Bushnell 8x42 binoculars, and they both fit fine.I might buy another bracket for my son's, but I want to see whether the binocular rotation annoys me in the long term. But for now, as a solid and dependable solution to the unacceptable wobble I was experiencing trying to hand-hold my 12x50's, this bracket fits the bill nicely.

There is nothing to dislike about this adapter. It's much sturdier than I thought it would be. Good, grippy knurled knob to attach to my Olympus bins and threaded 1/4 inch plate to attach to tripod or plate adapter. Can't fault it for the price.

I bought this to replace the plastic mount supplied with Celestron's 15x70 Skymaster Binoculars. The Celestron mount supplied is not particular robust (it is made from plastic, probably polycarbonate.) When using it, the binoculars oscillate from side to side and take quite a time to settle down, making it not particularly good for viewing the sky (the binoculars themselves are excellent quality for the price.)This metal mount is more robust, the degree of oscillation is less, and the oscillation dampens down much more quickly. In my opinion, it makes the binoculars far more usable for sky viewing with a tripod.It would be good if Celestron supplied a better quality mount with their binoculars.Until they do, I'd recommend this as a good replacement.Note added three months later;Before you buy; Check the screw thread size of the mounting bush on your binoculars. This mount fits my Celestron 15x70 (bought in March 2013), but it doesn't appear to fit all binoculars (one example; a Celestron 15x70, bought in 2005). Also, see two examples of negative feedback in reviews below over thread size being incorrect for other binoculars. However, most customers are very happy, as am I.

The product doesn't come with any instructions.There is the video (due to the existence of the video I purchased the product), but it only shows the obvious part: the product has one screw, and obviously you fit that to the binocular.However how to fit it to a tripod? The product description says "Twin quarter inch thread connections to tripod, hide clamp or car window mount". Now that is rather unclear -- what does that mean? It speaks of "connections", and of "twin", to what does that relate?Now on the base of the product, the short part of the L, there are two holes with threads. But what are the "connections"? I purchased a tripod, "Camera Tripod 79"/200cm, K&F Concept DSLR Tripods Aluminum Travel Vlog Tripod Monopod" here on Amazon. After removal of the "quick release plate", two holes of similar (but unspecified size) become visible, but their distance is twice as the distance of the two holes on the product.So apparently only one of them can be used (nothing about "twin").So let's assume that one needs a 1/4 inch (metal) screw, and fitting screw-nut and ring-washer.OBVIOUSLY, they should have been provided with this very high-priced product (10.99 GBP).So I am searching on Amazon for such screws, but they don't exist on Amazon (as it seems).The screws needed to be long, to fit through the very thick short part of the L AND through the also rather thick plate of the tripod. But only very short 1/4 inch screws can be found.So this very overpriced product is only for do-it-yourself guys, who have seen such stuff before, and have the (rare?) screws etc. at hand.The video needed to show a selection of tripods, how to fit the product, together with precise information on further things needed (and nothing further should be needed -- but if so, then all information on that needed to be stated).

This item I bought hoping it would fit my binoculars as well as the lower end would fit the thread of my little-used Mono-pod. I'm delighted to say the threaded button on top fitted the front end of the central barrel of the binoculars and tightened a treat. The threaded socket on the lower horizontal tongue fitted the thread of the Mono-pod perfectly and so I have a very handy binocular rest to hold the 50x magnification binoculars steady easily,It might have been possible to fabricate something DIY at home but it wouldn't have been so strong and there might have been problems finding one with a matching thread so - for just under 10 quid this made a lot of sense and saved a load of trouble. It's well finished and strong. Should give years of service.

Good value, although a simple design. Fits my Nikon Monarch7 8x42 binoculars perfectly and easily. Enables me to mount my binoculars on a tripod or monopod for additional stability. Very useful for prolonged birdwatching in my garden or in the field. I especially like the fact it has a second hole on the mounting plate which enables me to safely store the blanking cap from the binoculars and minimise the risk of it getting lost. I am very happy with this purchase.

Wer (vor allem ältere Porro-)Ferngläser ohne Schraubgewinde auf ein Stativ montieren will, muss nach einer Adapterlösung suchen. M.W. gibt es prinzipiell drei Alternativen auf dem Markt:- Adapter, die das Glas von oben mit einem Band oder Bügel fixieren. Solche Produkte gibt es von verschiedenen Anbietern: günstige Angebote (Velbon, Bushnell), ein ebenfalls recht preiswertes von Berlebach (mit dickem Gummiband, verwende ich selbst auch), teurere von Nikon (Bügel oder Stoffband) und den Edelmarken (Leica, Swarovski, Zeiss). Im Prinzip funktionieren sie, die Montierung geht recht fix. Allerdings muss man genau darauf achten, ob das eigene Fernglas tatsächlich geeignet ist (manche Adapter funktionieren nur bis zu einer bestimmten Größe). Die Form der Adapter lässt bei manchen Gläsern immer noch ein gewisses Wackeln übrig. Durch die Arretierung von oben gerät schnell die individuelle Einstellung des Knickwinkels durcheinander, was im fixierten Zustand nicht mehr gut korrigiert werden kann. M.E. für Porros (gerade größere) alles nicht ideal, eher für schmalere Dachkant-Modelle geeignet. Wieso allerdings heute überhaupt noch 2000 Euro-Gläser ohne Schraubgewinde hergestellt werden, entzieht sich meinem Verständnis...- Klemmen, die das Glas an einer der Tuben halten. Die meisten werden hier auf die Manfrotto Superclamp 035BN zurückgreifen. Das geht fix, aber auch hier passt leider nicht jedes Glas. Bei dieser Lösung können verständlicherweise leicht Klemmspuren am Glas entstehen. Ältere Fernglasklemmen von anderen Anbietern findet man manchmal auf dem Gebrauchtmarkt.- Adapter, die das Glas am Mittelsteg halten. Hierzu gehört der Opticron-Artikel. Es ist ein ganz einfaches Befestigungsprinzip, das aber beste Stabilität garantiert (sofern der Durchmesser des Mittelstegs die Befestigung erlaubt). Der Opticron-Adapter hält mein Tento 20x60 genauso problemlos wie kleinere Porros. Da er komplett aus Metall gefertigt ist, wackelt nichts und kann nichts zerbrechen. Finger weg von ähnlich aussehenden Ebay-Angeboten - die sind meist aus Plastik und brechen schon bei der Montage eines schwereren Glases wie ein Zahnstocher auseinander (selbst erlebt) - eine Gefahr für jedes Fernglas! Dann lieber die 15 Euro mehr für die Opticron-Version investieren. Ein kleiner Nachteil: Die Anbringung mit Hilfe der beiden schmalen Schrauben von oben ist etwas "fummelig". Wer z.B. im Dunkeln bei astronomischen Beobachtungen zwischen verschiedenen Gläser wechseln will, muss schon eine Lampe haben und aufpassen, dass ihm die Schrauben nicht aus der Hand fallen, sonst geht die Sucherei los. Einem ähnlichen Prinzip folgt das Modell von Kaiser Fototechnik 6032, wobei es den Vorteil zu haben scheint, dass die Schraubvorrichtung im Adapter integriert ist, so dass die Fummelei wegfällt. Ich habe es allerdings selbst noch nicht ausprobieren können. Anders als das Opticron-Modell scheint es aus Plastik zu sein, einige User berichten von Stabilitätsdefiziten.Fazit: Für mich ist momentan der Opticron-Adapter eine sehr brauchbare Lösung, die ich weiterempfehlen kann.

¡Atención entusiastas!, éste es un ingenioso accesorio que permite adaptar al trípode los prismáticos vintage con eje central que carecen de rosca de sujeción. Es enteramente metálico, compacto y negro --"Made in Taiwán"--, y la longitud de los pernios laterales me ha permitido sujetar desde un AGFA 8X30 con 12 mm de eje central, o un ZEISS 8X30 "Jenoptem" con un diámetro del eje de 13 mm, hasta los 17 mm del eje de un HAKING 20X50, que son el mínimo y el máximo de diámetro de la barra central o eje de mis prismáticos antiguos. Estoy encantado pensando en que voy a poder utilizar mis ZEISS, o el NIKON 8X30 EII que acabo de adquirir, bien asentados y sin vibraciones.AMAZON, bien, como siempre y muy rápido en el envío.

Wer z.B.Ferngläser älterer Bauart (u./o.siehe bildliches Beispiel: 10x50 Binocular Fernglas Wasserdicht Weitwinkel HD Binokular Professionelle Teleskop für Vogelbeobachtung Klettern Jagd Sport Reisen) in Besitz hat und diese optimal auf z.B. ein Stativ aufmontieren möchte dem ist diese Halterung wärmstens zu empfehlen.Gibt noch diverse andere Halte-/Spannvorrichtungen für optische Geräte im Handel, aber dieses Teil empfinde ich als das absolute Optimum. Klein, fast unscheinbar aber hält bombenfest, stabile, sehr gute Verabeitung und tut das was es soll bzw. was man erwartet.Befestigungsschrauben für die Montage des Optricron auf z.B. Stativ-Platten werden allerdings nicht mitgeliefert was aber nichts mit der Qualität des beschriebenen Artikels zu tun hat denn kann der Hersteller ja nicht wissen wofür der Verbraucher letztlich das Teil verwenden bzw. wo aufmontieren möchte.100% Weiterempfehlung !!!

Es un artículo muuuuy util para poner los prismaticos en un tripode y poder mirar algo continuamente sin el horrible cansancio y movimiento que no nos deja ver bien lo observado.Yo lo utilizo para ver las estrellas, la luna, unos animales que estan en un sitio quietos (patos, pajaros... etc)Tambien los utilizo para grabar algo que está quieto con la videocamara (una actuación familiar, por ejemplo)Es de metal y es sólido.De buen material.Aconsejolo.Abracos

Ottimo! Cercavo da tempo un adattatore del genere, dalla foto temevo che interferisse sulla distanza interpupillare, invece e' abbastanza sottile da "calzare" su qualsiasi binocolo con la barra centrale (vecchi Tento russi compresi). Comunque pur essendo piccolo e' solido e ben fatto. Soddisfattisima dell'acquisto!

Ho un vecchio binocolo Stein Optik 12x50.É abbastanza pesante e per ottenere una visuale stabile bisognava sempre appoggiarsi da qualche parte. Il binocolo non ha la filettatura per i supporti standard.Con questo supporto ho risolto il problema. Ottimo prodotto.

Der Artikel ist klein und durchdacht, verwende die Halterung für ein schon etwas älteres Zeissfernglas aus Glas und Stahl, funktioniert vorzüglich zur Befestigung an meinem aktuellen Stativ.

für stabiles, korrektes und dennoch unauffälliges befestigen von optischen geräten bestens geeignet. hatte auch schon andere halterungen, die allerdings weniger gut waren. die lieferung ging quasi von einem tag auf den anderen.

Lo compré para usarlo en unos binoculares 10x50 y van perfectamente. Es metálico, por lo cual no se rompe y me da más confianza que uno de plástico
