Perfect!
Bought as a replacement filter. It was super easy to install and worked exactly as advertised. Will look for this brand again!

140ppm down to 97ppm
My tap water was at 120ppm, I added a 3 stage and it went up to 140ppm, then I added this filter after the 3 stage and it dropped right down to 97ppm. The 3 stage still gave an odd water soaked in cardboard taste, but the chlorine scent was gone. After adding this carbon filter the water tastes great and looks somewhat bottled spring water-ish. Well worth every penny. Very happy with this purchase. I mainly used the side water spicket for the K-cup machine next to the sink, but now with the improved taste and smell, I'll be relying on it more for drinking water as well. This was very very easy to install within minutes, snipped the hose with scissors, popped the lines into the filter, let it run for 5 minutes to clear out the air and small carbon residue.... done. I hardly noticed any change in water pressure.

Effective low cost filtration
First impressions were not good as it didn't come with any plugs on its end connectors or did it have any plastic wrap. But I put it into use anyway starting with flushing. A lot of black carbon was released which indicated it was indeed brand new. After seating up its connections which were easy and leak free with a push and pull motion, a clean filtered taste was noticeable. I use this as a prefilter for a more expensive inline filter and it is doing this job well and as intended. I got this item for under $10 so I still consider it a good value. I had to remove a star for the lack of packaging (plugs or wrapping) and so gets a solid four-star recommendation.

Works in place of AP717
I use this filter in place of the AP717 filter on my furnace line going to an April Air Humidifier. It fit the 1/4" threaded copper line. There is no leakage and it was easy to install. The concept is to keep mineral deposits out of the humidifier. I'll see how long it lasts.

Thinner than other brands
The product itself is fine but for whatever reason it does not fit my mounts to my Osmosis system

My water tastes much better now
Yes this filter makes my water taste much better in conjuction with my RO system I have bought 2 and will use the other for my refrigerator.
