Review: Buy the hardcover version!!! - I saw an excerpt from this book on Facebook and thought it was interesting, a book for adults, written like a childrenโs book. There are several options to purchase, the recommended one is the hardcover, and that is what I chose, despite the contrast in pricing. The illustrations in this book are superb, simplistic yet deepโ especially towards the back of the book. It is a quick read, you can quickly see where the book is going. Itโs based upon building and changing your own perspective, and understanding why your perspective may sometimes go towards a negative position. I was honestly moved by the book, and shared it with my husbandโฆ Who never reads, but he read it all in one sitting and had the same emotions I did about it. I canโt wait to pass it along to my adult son to read, and I hope that he gets even a portion out of it that I did. It would be an excellent book for a gift. I donโt do a whole lot of desertcart reviews, despite purchasing more and more from them as I become more and more introverted with older age, I guessโฆ if youโre looking at this book, opt for the hardcover copy, I feel the authors intent can only really be conveyed through this medium. It was simplistic and just a really good message. Well worth the money and is something I will likely purchase several copies of to gift and keep one on my bookshelf. Review: Eye Opening - Great read. I highly recommend it. This book is like an awakening. You donโt have to accept things because thats just the way they are. You can change your mind. Question everything. Life is about perception. And once you realize that, that is truly living.

Everything a childrenโs book should beโhowever, this one might be more for the adults than the kids. Truly moving.

This book can change your life
Super short read with one very simple message - the way you relate your thoughts to the external world matters and itโs the only thing you can actually control. This book is worth every penny. Buy it, study it, put its lessons into action and watch your wellbeing improve.

Not for me
It was OK. Product was of good quality and arrived on time, but I didn't like it. I was expecting profound concepts, but it was too repetitive and cyclical, so I was distracted from the value by being too bored to absorb it.

Relatable and Beneficial
โBut you can choose how to hold it!โ says the voice of compassion in his heart. โNo matter what happens, whatever truth there may be, you can choose how to hold it.โ This book was recommended to me by a client and Iโm glad I picked it up. I thought it presented the nuances of mental illness in a very relatable way. I also appreciated how it illustrated the power of perception and how it plays a huge role in how we view and handle lifeโs challenges. I also like how it highlighted how impactful our early experiences can be in shaping our worldviews. I read this on my Kindle but I think Iโm going to purchase a physical copy so I can loan it to clients as I found it to be a beneficial read.

Great book for Therapy and starting conversations
How to Hold a Cockroach is a gentle yet powerful story that explores themes of perception, acceptance, and emotional resilience. I use this book in my therapy practice and find it to be a valuable tool for opening up meaningful conversations. Personally, I read a chapter individually with each of my children to slowly introduce these intrinsic topics in a way that feels safe and personal. Its simplicity makes it accessible for all ages, yet the depth of its message stays with you. Highly recommended for both personal growth and therapeutic settings.

A different view of the cockroach
A gift to my son, he found it interesting and a good read. He was battling cockroaches so I thought it was a more amusing take for a creature which can be quite a battle in society.

Repetitive and annoying
This was the worst and most annoyingly repetitive book I've ever "read". I flipped through it, because after two repetitions of the same text with just a few words changed, I realised almost the entire book consists of the same repeated lines. I was done in 10 minutes. Terrible. ๐
