The lid doesn't lock so how do you get the top layer cooked ? How much mix do you use on each waffle opening?

It won't shut all the way while making waffles but the light goes green when there done. And just fill the animal with a tad bit space from being full otherwise mix goes over and will get messy then just remove cool down and eat after light goes green!!! super easy and quick😁 just don't overfill
