Frustrating and sometimes fun
I agree with the first review, however, by starting it over and over again, sometimes clicking the mouse durring the intro, it eventually starts. When it does start I agree with the second review.

Is it the 1995 version or the 1997?
Disney's Magic Artist Classic (Jewel Case) is a really fun interactive game, I highly recommend it for children and Disney Lovers of all ages. I would have definitely given it ★★★★★ but unfortunately it wasn't the "Classic" I was paying for. I purchased this game for my sister who was having intense nostalgia over this game when we were children, she begged me to buy it. When the game arrived she opened it with joy. Sadly, she was slightly disappointed to find the version was Disney's Magic Artist Deluxe 1997 when she played it, but on the product case it was labeled the original 1995 version.I'm not sure if the (Jewel Case) is the 1997 version or if Amazon messed up the packaging, but to those are looking for the 1995 version this product is not it. What is extremely misleading is the cover and the case for this game is for the 1995 version, but when you actually insert the disk it's Disney's Magic Artist Deluxe 1997 version. I was disappointed as well as my sister but we are enjoying this game, but if versions are important as well as the product you're paying for this is a very misleading product on Amazon.

0 Stars if I could, it’s a scam
I paid almost 15$ and revived a chipped, empty CD case. No CD-ROM or pages. Just an empty plastic case. Very disappointed.

Great fun even for adults, if you can get it to work!
I have this program from years ago and just bought a new computer with Vista on it. I installed it and it kept shutting down when trying to start it, but with the advice another amazon reviewer I was able to get it to work upon clicking during the intro. This program is not just for kiddos! The unusual tools allow you to do fun things with the media by double clicking over, for example, the crayon once you have selected it... it becomes a wacky melted crayon which you can do some cool things with.Once you have created fun or psychadelic images, you can actually export them and use them as artwork. Makes for snazzy computer desktop artwork!Even in spite of the troubles with opening the program sometimes, it's definately worth it!

Does not work on Windows XP w/ Service Pack 2
When I installed this software, I received a DMA.exe error and the program halted. I tried this on both XP Home and XP Pro systems. If you want to run this program under Windows XP (either Home or Professional), it will not work. All of my systems, both Home and Pro, have Service Pack 2 installed, so I don't know if it works on non-updated systems. If those are the versions of Windows you have available, then you should probably get the Magic Artist Deluxe version, which claims it can run on XP.

CAN work with Windows XP - Here's how
I am a sucker for nostalgia, and for me at least, almost nothing is more nostalgic than this game. I played it for hours on end as a child, and no that I'm older, I wanted to find it again. But obviously these older video games don't always work on the new systems. But I for one do not want to just throw away part of my childhood like that. So I did some research and figured out how to make it work. The game installed no problem for me, but when I went to play it, the game would crash just after the title and introduction. So I played around with the Windows Compatibility settings and got it to load. Assuming the game installs, right-click on the icon that you'd usually use to launch the program. Then at the bottom, select Properties. At the top of the window that opens, there should be a tab that says Compatibility. There's a drop down menu that will show past versions of Windows (95, 98, NT, 2000). For Disney's Magic Artist, it will work with any of the above. You should also select the "Run in 256 Colors" option and "Run in 640 x 480 screen resolution" option. The game looks a little grainy, but it works. (NOTE: This is all assuming that the game installs. IF the game does NOT install, you may try the same compatibility option, but instead of the launch icon, do it on the setup.exe or autoplay.exe (just be sure it ends with .exe)

Childhood Nostalgia
I still have my copy of this CD, ever since I was a young child. When I was a kid, I remember watching a trailer for this game on a Disney VHS, and even though the CD has been around for so long, I still enjoy it. It may not be interesting for kids today, but for those of us who grew up with classic Disney, and grew up in the 90's, it is very fun to play around with this interactive game.
