Function We all know that cats grind their paws every day, whether they are sofas, curtains, even wooden flooring, wallpaper, they will not only be very ugly, but also hurt people in serious cases. But our cat pad can solve this problem very well. Of course, you can also use it as a mat of the door, cat scratching mat, play mat, but also a nest mat. Material Our cat mat is made of 100% natural sisal and a solid cotton edge, with an anti-skid latex base and no chemical additives. It not only has the advantages of pressure resistance, acid and alkali resistance, corrosion resistance and no static electricity, but also is a kind of green and environmental protection household goods. Cleaning ❶ Sprinkle a little salt on the cat scratching mat before cleaning. ❷ Move cat scratching mat to the outside and shake off the dust on the surface or use vacuum cleaner. ❸ Add professional carpet detergent or a small amount of soda water to warm water about 30℃/86℉ and stir properly, then make cat scratching mat immersed in warm water. (Tips: Because sisal fibers are rigid and its saturation force is poor, we can only wash them slowly when cleaning. We should control the strength of our hands, otherwise it will damage the beauty and feel of sisal carpet.) ❹ After washing, it can't wring it out with force, but can only be naturally suspended in a dry place to dry with the wind.

My cat hates it!
I'm sure some cats might love it, and it looks and feels like it should be really inviting for a cat to get their claws into. But cats are cats, and my particular version won't even touch it! Not for want of trying to instruct him either - my fingers are sore from dragging them over its rough surface to demonstrate how it should be done, while the cat sits next to me, with that "what on earth are you doing?" look.

Total success!
My 9 year old (estimated age) cat, Ted, was formerly a stray/feral little guy, who had no concept of living indoors when he came to me 3 years ago. Unfortunately, he is a big clawer of the furniture, despite buying him a large cat tree and small scratching post (both entirely ignored) he elected to sharpen his talons on the edges and drawers of my bed. The bed was brand new and it upset me terribly to see it's destruction. I just couldn't get the message across at all, he would look at me, baffled, hind legs anchored on the rug, forelegs ferociously tearing at the fabric, when I'd say "No, no!" and wag a finger, entirely inefectualy; all I did was alarm him, which was not at all my intention or objective. He does love his small cat tree in the kitchen, but the bed was his main focus and he would have a fine old scratch each morning before I could even walk around the bed to stop him. Consequently, he has destroyed the fabric entirely on one corner, exposing the wooden frame and was on his way to doing the same on the opposite side, (deeming the exposed wood less satisfying, presumably). So I had nothing to loose by trying this sisal mat out. I cut away the destroyed fabric and affixed the mat to the frame using small carpet tacks, with ease. For the first evening, he just rubbed his face on it, which I took to be a promising sign and by the second evening, he is loving it, really getting his claws stuck in. He is 5.5kg and a big lad, but it has stayed in place so far. It also looks quite smart, is of really good quality sisal with a flexible backing that has tiny suction dots to prevent its moving on a floor but actually helps anchor it in place in the way I have used it. It also has no strong odour which is good for us both. And obviously, the added bonus is it hides his handiwork nicely. I am just about to order a second for the other side and hope he ignores the drawers in favour of them.I so wish I had thought if this solution 3 years ago and bought two the moment he began to scratch. If you have any similar scratching issues, I highly recommend you give one a shot in your home.

Good option for a flat scratching post
Good option for a flat surface , sturdy as it’s on a carpet, not sure if it holds if on a floor. Cats like to sit on it and scratch it.Bought the big size and it is good enough. Can’t imagine the smaller one will be good enough

My fault for not reading the size - it’s so very tiny
It’s basically a sample piece of mat. Barely big enough for my large cat to stand on. As it is not large, it is not heavy, so any claws pulling on it means the mat gets pulled up. If it was a usual size of mat (like an entrance door mat) I’d give it a better review. But it was my fault for not looking carefully at the measurements. The quality itself is not bad.

Durable versatile mat
Cats use this from time to time. I use it to put under other cat mats to tip cat nip falling out. Good price and service

Good value & quality, but small scratching mat
Purchased to put on a corner stair to try to avoid our little tinker of a young cat clawing at the carpet & ruining it further! She’s a horizontal scratcher & not interested in the various scratching posts we’ve bought or the cardboard style scratching items either, just likes carpet! Purchased this mat in Hope she would use it as it’s flat like our carpet. This mat is quite a small size, actually seemed a bit smaller than what we were expecting, so if you have a large cat suggest purchasing the larger size mat. The small size mat is however fine for our cat as she’s not very big. The mat seems sturdy and grips to the carpet well. It appears very durable at first glance, but only time will tell how it will last. It does however look & feel like a standard door mat. Our cat seems to prefer sitting or sleeping on the mat at the moment rather than using it as a scratcher, but it’s early days & hopefully with a bit of coaxing, she will get used to it & give it a go to help save our stair carpet. Overall reasonable value for money & satisfied.
