The problem with these tutorial "band" books is that they are generic, not focused on a specific instrument. You can buy the flute, or the sax, or the clarinet, or the trumpet version, but the content is the same.

I inserted the CD and started with audio lesson one. The audio then refers to notes and fingerings on page 6 without covering how to read fingering notation. Also, there is no installation file that I can see on the included CD+, just 47 audio tracks. Maybe I'm missing something but this has proved to be no way for a beginner to learn from square one alone ... I've learned numerous instruments -- guitar, keyboard, and trumpet -- from method books and this one isn't helping, unfortunately.

Bought this one because 6th grade band instructor recommended it. I have little knowledge about different instruments and band. So when I was searching the book online, I found the book cover a little bit confusing to me. I think it will be better if the book cover only has Saxophone picture and labels Alto Saxophone instead of Eb Alto Saxophone. I also think the book cover should be hardcover instead of paperback.

They work for different sizes and the price was reasonable

My daughter's band instructor recommends this booklet for his band class. it arrived really fast which was great! It also is so easy for someone who is new to music to follow!

This is a great book for someone just starting to learn alto sax. It's aimed at middle school kids, but I'm 54 years old and used the AoA book for French horn and found it very useful. It teaches notes and fingerings one at a time, with a page of exercises for each. It goes very slowly. You'll still need a teacher to help you with things like taking care of the reed and playing without honking, but this is a great book if you're just starting out. Many teachers use it.

Honestly, the band director sent me the direct link to what my kid needed and, it didn't suck?Seriously amazon... I didn't need to leave a review to something I knew was perfect for my beginner band daughter. Lol

Va bene soprattutto per suonare in compagnia. Si può usare anche da soli, il CD allegato aiuta tanto.
