Rare Dahlia Opera Yellow with Red Side 100+ Fresh Seeds

I bought the seeds in early May and started to plant following the enclosed instructions: soak about 10 seeds in water for 2 days and then plant them in a pot. In about 3 weeks, one plant came up, the leaves of which suggested it is a dahlia. In late July, the plant had over 10 nice yellow flowers. Although the flowers are not as beautiful as the picture shown, 100 seeds for $7 is a good deal. This is my first time to plant dahlia from seeds, and it is a good experience for me.

That the bag was cut and did not have hardly any seeds! Very disappointed!

I was really looking forward to these flowers, but after one month not one of the seeds in the packet germinated in peat pots, which were closely monitored in a well-lighted (Gro-Lux), heated floor area of the house.

Ordered four different packets of Dahlia seeds, a total of 400 seeds. After trying for different germination processes only two seeds sprouted. Then the flower produced wasn’t even what I bought. Junk seeds.

Followed instructions to a T - soaked seeds for 24 hours before placing then in my seedling tray. Not one germinated. Bummer. What did I do wrong?

Never grew.
