Run the installer as prompted when you plug it into your computer. Great for extending my laptop screen to another monitor. I now have 3 monitors that extend to each other: built in laptop screen, HDMI to HDMI, and USB to hdmi thanks to this product.The cable is good and does the job, which in my case has been to connect a monitor to a laptop. Installation was less straightforward than ideal. The driver did not download automatically as the instructions suggested and I had to search for it on the website. There was also an issue with obtaining sound as the monitor has no speakers and the laptop automatically defaulted to sound output from the monitor. This may be a Windows problem, and it was easily solved once understood, but it would have been helpful to have this identified as an issue within the documentation.

For some limited applications this might be "good enough" but it does not in any way make up for lack of true multi-screen support on a PC.Issues;- Attached screen will randomly flicker (blank out) for about 0.25 seconds every 10 minutes or so suggesting the signal it is emitting is on the edge of what displays can cope with.- Latency makes using the attached screen for any sort of mouse driven work impossible, especially when using in a multi monitor environment as the mouse will feel right on the main screen and "swimmy"/slow on the attached screen which causes all sort of problems like overshooting buttons etc. when working with details UIs such as Visual Studio or Photoshop.Could you run a video or PowerPoint presentation from this? Probably. Can you use it to attach a day-to-day second monitor for work? Absolutely not.

Was fed up using 1 monitor + 1 laptop screen as my dual display setup. Having been used to using 2 x 22" monitors in the office i needed a proper dual screen setup but my laptop (as with most laptops) only had a single HDMI out. I needed to make my laptop output a video signal some other way so options were either a universal docking station (for £60+) or this USB to HDMI converter.Can confidently says this works well, installed driver, detected monitor. Now have 2 x 22" monitors running off my laptop so i can disable the laptop display. I am using it on a USB 3.0 port. Hasnt caused any noticeable performance hit although i am a home-office user, not a gamer.

4 screen setup : simple to install & did work to all intents & purposes BUT the screen would periodically 'uninstall' & go blank for a few seconds and then would be 're-installed' . This happened continously - so in the end I uninstalled the device and went back to the original adapter connector! Could just be an issue with my multi screen setup

I have a Surface Book 2 and 2 HDMI monitors, in terms of ports my laptop only has 1 USB Type-C port. I bought this hoping that I could run all 3 screens at once (The laptop screen, one plugged into a USB-C, and this one). It works really well.I plugged it in and it didn't detect the screen, but I noticed that the software driver comes on the adaptor. I double clicked and clicked install, it tells you to reboot and then it worked.Very simple setup (2 mins) and no lag on the screen or anything, working really well.

Took a couple of attempts to get USB diver but worked fine once that was sorted. Do not purchase if for a work PC and they don't allow drivers to be installed.

Those who need this know what it is for. Good quality, brand and value

Really cool cable for the price. I originally purchased this to connect my Chromebook to a second monitor utilizing the USB-C port. Curious, I wondered if I couldn't display my Galaxy S9 cell phone to the monitor. When I connected my phone, Samsung Dex initiated and I was pleasantly surprised. With this inexpensive cable I was able to turn my smartphone into a working PC!! I was able to use my phone a most and a connected bluetooth keyboard. Great quality, great price.
