For the past few years I have been using memory foam pillows and have found a few that I had really liked. However, they do in fact retain heat and will make my head sweat in warmer weather. Then, recently, I woke up with sever neck pain that has lasted for many weeks. I realized that my pillows clearly had something to do with this so I found this pillow and wanted to give it a try. Since I have had it, my neck pain has significantly improved and I have been sleeping better with this pillow. I love how it feels which is much different than memory foam and it does seam it will be cooler in the warmer weather which is around the corner. I laugh when I read reviews on how this pillow is too heavy....it is a bit heavier than a memory foam pillow but certainly not too heavy and I have no issues placing my hand underneath it when I sleep, unlike what some reviewers complained about. So comfort and support is excellent!! It is a bit thin, even with the removable insert it comes with so I do use a very thin pillow underneath to raise it up to my comfort level and it works perfectly. I only need a cheep thin pillow to achieve my desired pillow height. So it is expensive but I think worth it and would recommend to anyone having neck issues from their current pillow, especially if you are using memory foam like I had for years. I am very glad I got this!

This Is great for side sleeping. As I approach 40 I’m leaning that we don’t always wake up without aches and pains. A cheap pillow used to be fine. I like a firm pillow that doesn’t get hot, but also doesn’t make my ear fall asleep, and doesn’t hurt my neck if I happen to wake up on my back. This material handled it all. It feels soft, but… it’s not. Tough to describe. I tried “pillow cube” brand for a couple years, bought two different sizes, trying to get a good night’s sleep but found that their material was either too thick/hard, or too thin/soft. Purple saved the day. It’s firm - but doesn’t hurt. And it stays cool. It’s super expensive, but worth the money. I’m 5’5” and took out the thinner of the two bolsters, which for me is perfect. The weight of the pillow is great because it doesn’t shift around. If by chance I do happen to roll on my back, I’ve found that my neck doesn’t hurt because the material will “give” at the edge and be forgiving. Pillow cube didn’t do that. So as a picky pillow person I recommend taking the plunge and forking over the money. My cat likes it too, and I’m debating buying the thinner, cushion version for him to put next to me on the couch.

Great pillow if you are like me and like a firm pillow with a little give. Stays cool at night . Has very good weight to it. It’s definitely a pillow for someone like me that enjoys a firmer pillow at night. It a a great size not too big and there is zero odor that I have noticed upon getting it or since I’ve been sleeping on it.

This thing is no joke. It does weigh ten go twenty lbs haha seriously it's like the gel grid mattress. Just wiggly out of control. With that said, it being so heavy means it doesn't move around while you're sleeping. That's what most want. I don't like when I wake up and my pillow is on the floor lol this stays put. Your head sinks into it but it's all good and worth the price. Quality cost money. You aint getting this thing for cheap. Good things aren't cheap.

I've had several different kinds and makes of pillows. Memory foam, shredded foam, goose down, fiber fill, etc. Payed anywhere from $20 to $80. Have to say this Purple Pillow is so totally different. I'm 6 ft, 200 lb and a side sleeper. I pretty much tossed and turned and adjusted the pillow I was using through out the night. Very seldom got a good night sleep. Thought I'd give the Purple Pillow a try after reading and watching reviews. People really liked it or really disliked it. I did notice that most people that didn't like it had reviewed it a few years ago before PP included the boosters. Without the boosters the pillow probably would not work for me but with both boosters the pillow is the best pillow I've slept on. Both boosters raise the pillow to 4 1/2 inches. The pillow is on the firm side and is heavy but I don't have to adjust it during the night. It's consistent in shape and how much my head sinks into it. It took 3 nights for me to adapt to it and find the best booster configuration but I would still sleep through the night. Now after almost a month I experience a good, deep night sleep shortly after my head hits the pillow. I wake up feeling more rested. It is not a cozy, snuggle pillow - it's a get a good night sleep pillow. I figure $100 is a small price to pay for that. And I imagine with the Purple Pillow foam technology this pillow will last for a lot of years. A Dr told me years ago that a good night sleep is important because sleep is when the body heals itself. I recommend the Purple Pillow.

Sure it's kind of comfortable at first. I really wanted to like this pillow, but honestly for something that costs this absurd price (over 200$+) it should be the best pillow I've ever used, and it's not, I've had numerous nights where I wake up in the middle of the night with a pain in my neck because of the way the pillow is, I've tried both boosters, 1 booster, no booster and for whatever reason this pillow just isn't that comfortable after about a week it felt different and doesn't quite keep the same comfort as it originally did. It now gets super hard if I lay in a specific way (that tends to happen a lot at night while I'm asleep) but if I adjust and lay back to a perfect position I can fall back to sleep (which isn't how sleeping works most people do move at least a little at night). For something that's advertised as being the best pillow it really kinda isn't as comfortable as even a normal feather pillow, it probably maintains the same "level of comfort" for longer just because the material it's made of, but the initial comfort isn't better and might even be worse than some of the memory foam and traditional pillows I've used. So realistically the benefits of this pillow is likely just the length of time it can last at a lower comfort level, rather than being the most comfortable pillow it's more of just an okay pillow that stays okay for longer.

Honestly, the pillow is marvelous, but, Purple uses a material called hyper-elastic polymer, and it's a love it or hate it subject, so trying before buying is crucial! For me, I slept on this pillow less than a week, and knew I had to have a Purple mattress; it's that good! Extremely supportive, yet never too firm or too soft, and never painful. This material also sleeps very cool, and the hottest sleepers are never sweat drenched or tossing from hot spot to hot spot, my second reason for purchasing. The most important topic for pillows is comfort, and this one here is king! The pillow is well engineered, and 3" of hyper elastic polymer is what make's this pillow stand in a class of it's own! This material is the perfect blend of softness, support, breath-ability, and comfort, and you only find it in Purple. Underneath the 3" of hyper-elastic polymer is a cloth woven into the material. It seems out of place at first, until you realize how it helps the pillow stay in place, as well as help keep it's integrity. This pillow never needs to be flipped, or fluffed, and completely changes how you think about, or use, pillows. Oh, and it weighs 10 lbs. This seems like it would be completely unacceptable, but weight is hardly even noticed thanks to how this pillow revolutionized the whole world of pillows; no flipping, no fluffing, no hot spots. Adjust-ability is also great, as this pillow has two "boosters" that will effectively change the height or thickness. These boosters are made out of soft foam (polyurethane), with one being 1" thick, and the other being 0.5" thick. This is genius! Being able to adjust thickness and height for a perfect match to your body and mattress makes a massive difference! This allows a completely different and more typical material to be used for sleep, if you are a person that loves being able to mix things up in bed! Or a person that has very personalized preference, like me. From a $100 pillow, to a $1000 mattress, Purple has changed my world of sleep, and I will never sleep on anything but, given the chance. This company was born making orthopedic braces, so it's no wonder why Purple make a perfect pillow, and mattress! I sent their talalay latex version back, but this one's a keeper!

This pillow REALLY STINKS. The smell is inconceivably bad. It needs days to air out, days and days. The culprit seems to be the two purple pads inside that control the thickness of the pillow. The actual purple webbing doesn't smell so badly. It would seem to me that there's really no excuse for something to smell like a burning Iraqi oil field. For God's sake, a pillow is something people put their heads on..... BUT, once the stench is tamed (I removed the two purple pads completely and will throw them out), the pillow is miraculously comfortable and helpful for cervical spine and neck problems. Also, buy from seller, not Amazon. Amazon tosses it in a box with nothing -- means nothing, looks like nothing -- no warranty, no label, no nothing. The pillow is too expensive to be delivered in such a cavalier way.
