Don Quixote: The Complete Adventures - Adapted for the Contemporary Reader (Harris Classics)

Don Quixote is a masterpiece that no serious reader should miss.
This version of the classic, with contemporary English, was much easier to read than many of the earlier translations. The electronic version is helpful to increase the print size for tired old eyes too.

Rating Reflects this Edition, NOT the Story
The story of Don Quixote is fantastic, thus my purchase. The number of times it must have been edited between the original translation and editions since is surely ponderous. So when encountering, "Adapted For The Contemporary Reader," one would expect this has been yet another chance for the text to be perfected, but MY GOD the entire volume is absolutely riddled with typos. True and real typos, absolutely not things lost in translation or to time.James Harris should be ashamed.

Don't read this
Stick with the musical, this book is so long and boring. Don't put yourself through this horrible Thing. There is nothing worth reading this "classic"

terrible narration
I did not like the narrator. His voice was very robotic sounding. I could not get into the book at all because I was too annoyed by the narrator. Exchanged for one narrated by someone else.

Don Quixote
Interesting discourse about Quixote and his adventures but very lengthy indeed. Features many of his friends that are some times difficult to follow

Tedious
I found this translation tedious, not done very well, and with rather a lot of grammatical and spelling errors, not to mention a large number of omitted words, leaving sentences incomplete and incoherent.I wish that I stopped earlier in the book and had read another translation instead.
