Enjoyable.
My only problem with the book it was over too soon and now I have to wait some months for these authors to write the next installment :)Some spoilers in review. So Jonathon is back creating another unique dungeon concept as well as another unique use of a dungeon fairy for this genre. Though some parallels can be drawn to a Japanese ‘kids?’ anime currently available On Netflix, it definitely stands on its own.First of all the split perspective of dungeon and adventurers have been done in other books in this genre but not quite in this way. Where the adventurer is also the dungeon, but the adventurer is unaware of the dungeon he is becoming. Dungeon world perhaps closest but in no way the same. This is an interesting perspective. Kind of the ant knowing the human that picked it up as god type perspective in a way but turned around in That the dungeon is perpetually put in ‘danger’ by the body he is currently inhabiting without any knowledge or control of outside factors (at least in book 1.....some hints in there about possible future). Also the history of the body itself has yet to be fully explored. Also the fact that the adventurer is going out doing adventurer things while all this is going on in his body without his knowledge. All in all good new read for this genre and in my opinion if you want to read all the possibilities of the dungeon core portion of LitRPG, this is yet another of the must reads in the unique cores.

Solid, or at least gelatinous story
Clean editing, clear writing, not a lot of menu-driven baggage holding this story down. The story moved sufficiently at all times that I didn't feel the pacing was poor, the characterization was bland, but I did enjoy Marstin's clear-headed choice to turn his back on the thieves. I find the idea of Istut having a legal system in place hard to credit though and would have been more happy to see a permanent end to Marstin's villain. Given that Progen's villain is still alive, I expect Burch to make a return eventually. Sadly, I can also see Marstin turning Gary Stu in later stories, so that's something the authors will need to keep a watcher eye on. If you have a passing interest in biology and cellular biology specifically this is pretty fun, if you have an advanced understanding of such things, this story may make you chew on your hat in frustration.TL;DR good book, potential pitfalls in the next one, gold compared to most of the litrpg genre on amazon.

Intriguing concept and hope for sequels
This is an apt time for this book to come out (during the Covid -19 crisis). I really appreciated the science of immunology in this book, although I think the usage of antibodies as bullets/arrows inflicting damage was more for entertainment purposes than true scientific reality. Still, for a fantasy fiction tale, this was very informative. I hope the dungeon crystal expands into the muscle tissue (and improves on the ECM - extra cellular matrix) and bone tissue (and discusses osteocytes/osteoblasts and other bone cells) in the next book. This series has a LOT of potential, where the crystal could turn the hero into a super human. One thing that I think would be better is if there was some mental interaction between the dungeon crystal and the thief. In this first book, it felt like 2 separate stories (cellular world & human world) with the sicknesses roughly tying the 2 together. I will be awaiting the sequel eagerly.

Cells At Work! (The Dungeon Novel)
For those who've seen the above mentioned anime I have two things to say. 1: Less anthropomorphising, 2: Macro AND micro scale stories. That's all you need to know to decide if you'll want to give it a try or not.For those who haven't, and don't want to watch the anime, I recommend checking out some of the other books by the authors first. If you find you like both of their books then this will be an enjoyable journey, if not then I can almost guarantee there'll be something that will rub you the wrong way. They did a great job of blending their styles, but it quite literally has both the best and worst aspects of other dungeon core novels by both authors. Extremely rare in a collaborative effort that turns out such a seamless fusion as this one, but it does mean that you need to like both to even tolerate this one, though you'll probably enjoy it in that case.

It's really a 2 star book
Felt bad about giving only two stars so I changed it to three. The book blurb hooked me with a unique dungeon core premise but gave a jerk MC. The autor made me care more for the dungeon fairy the MC ate in the first chapter than two books with the main character. Also the author only sometimes follows the rules he sets up. One time the dungeon core can eat living things, other times it has to kill stuff physically first. Also the author does this weird thing were he splits the MC between a single celled organizim called Stemmy and the dungeon core itself. Sometimes one or the other acts like the boss then reverses it, sometimes one or the other will act all knowing and arrogant then reverses, sometimes one or the other will act really dumb then reverses. Most of the time author seems to want to explain how real life immune systems work more than telling a story. I skimmed many portions to try to get to some good parts, but overall wasn't very enjoyable. Recommend Giving series a pass.

Medical journal paired with the worst Char ever
This sounded good at first, then it quickly became a mix of a Medical Journal and the worse Character Sheet ever, it's like taking dungeons and dragons and stuffing it full of Medical stuff and hoping it Works " it does not " if i wanted to know all about Cell structures i would read about them, this is terrible.

Novel concept (pun intended)
I really wish this book had been around when I was talking biology in high school back in…well let’s just say a long time ago. Had it been, I would have understood it better and certainly gotten a better grade. Entertaining as well as educational. Can’t wait for book 2!

Great story, Good use of terminology.
Interesting take on a story, at times found it a bit confusing, but good at the end. Can't wait for more.

A great start
I'm loving the characters and story more as I read along. There are some mistakes here and there but they are just bumps in the road of a good story. Cheers!
