Waring Commercial WEB300 Single Cast Iron Burner, 1300W, 120V, 5-15 Phase Plug,Silver

My wife likes these to cook outdoors. They're quite a bit underpowered, if you ask me. We've been through a lot of them. They work for about a year then simply don't. Lately we've had a string of them that were shorting out and blowing the breaker of whatever circuit we plugged them into. We replaced them under warranty 2x and the replacements did the same thing. We even ordered from a difference source hoping we were just experiencing a bad lot. No difference. The last one caught fire within the first 10 minutes of use. These are too dangerous for me.

VERY well-made, very handsome. Thick iron plate distributes heat VERY evenly and holds heat for a remarkably long time. (This heat-holding can be an advantage when one wants to hold a steady heat, but a disadvantage when one needs to reduce heat quickly. And after use, I need to place an inverted pan over the plate until it cools down to prevent the chance of accidental burns.) The advantages of the unit's heat-holding plate, its good looks, versatility and quality of manufacture far outweigh the issue of the plate's holding heat when one wold prefer it didn't. ALSO TO NOTE: One can't use a pan with a bottom that exceeds the plate's diameter without damaging the plastic sides of the unit.

I ended up ordering 2 of these items. Works good so far ( 3 months) of daily use for 3 times a day. This has replaced my glass top over as the primary electric burner for all types of cooking. I use this for pressure cooker, regular cooking as well as for most importantly Indian cooking which requires high heat and long duration. So far no issues. What went in to this burner's favor was that this can take a beating (rough and tough). Will recommend

This is a sturdy lightweight product that needs respect. Use it in a safe place and keep the cord where the unit can't be pulled off the countertop. I bought it because I have a flat-top ceramic range and I am not supposed to use cast iron or enameled products on it per the manufacturer. I place this on a heat barrier on top of my countertop, next to the range. I can use the exhaust fans while I cook. I can once again use my cast iron skillet and I can use my large enameled stockpot. You can take it anywhere you can plug in to electricity.

It takes for ages to heat... in fact it does not heat much... I am very unhappy with it and I was thinking of asking a refund. I need a powerful unit on which I can cook and not waste time.This item name is misleading (to say the least), and it costs too much for what it is.Very... very... very disappointed.

Excellent product. Replaced one of another brand with this one and it is far superior. Would recommend it to anyone.

Could not get unit to even boil water as the power to the burner is intermittent. Would have returned it, but my first use was just outside of the 30 day window.
