Pound sounds his barbaric yawp over the roofs of the world
The best thing I garnered from ABC of reading wasn't how to read better, for that is too easy. Empower yourself with what self-criticism Pound must have suffered. It was to determine worth of product, meaning to distinguish horrible writing from provocative and interesting writing, and to know which novel or poem of two authors is an exemplar of master writing. In an age of post-information, any man may walk the street and say they know this or that, and we would easily believe it because of how similar it sounds to something else another genius said. In order to perceive that, there is much work needs be done. This is a necessity in today's industrial printing because so much of what is written is meant to line one's pocket, to prop each career of peers, to afford that dream job and never to write with sincerity and earnest and love. If you want to know how better to read and write, you might ask a writer, and no better one than Pound to start.

I'm pleased with it
The book gives an authoritative and convincing take on poetry and literature. Its main application as far as I'm concerned is to give the reader enough knowledge to go forward in his own studies without too much fear. I'm pleased with it.

ABC of Reading
ABC of reading is a book which is applicable to the business since we have been reading the world and the society as a book which is to be read since Plato and before Plato wrote this in his ancient time or before his ancient time.

Informative
Whilst, obviously Mr Pound's take on how one should read, I found the book educational. However, I read it twice, and am glad I persisted. Once may well be enough for cleverer people.

Dense and idiosyncratic; also jaw-droppingly amazing.
More penetrable than Pound's Guide to Kulchur, but still very, very dense. He has decided he is speaking to a very particular audience and if you don't get his references (or aren't willing to put the work into figuring it out) you are not it. The work has a zen feel to it - there are a lot of levels and he's laid hidden jokes where the reader making the connexion is the key piece he's trying to impart. I found Pound's syntax difficult at first, but there is a rhythm to it and once you figure it out, his writing flows very well. There is a lot of guidance as to what a serious reader should be familiar with in his opinion and why.

Magnifico
è un libbro di facile lettura, ma molto profondo. In certi passaggi mi parla dal cuore. Da raccomandare a chiunque voglia affrontare la vita ragionando.
