The Golden Guard Trilogy

I adored the Golden Guard in the Air Awakens series and their origin stories in this Prequel Trilogy did not disappoint! In addition to the origins of each member of the Golden Guard there were a few surprise back stories that added significant richness to the Air Awaken’s series.The Crown’s Dog was the most “Fantasy” of the three books. Erion was a bit of a mystery for me after only making a few appearances in the Air Awaken’s series and he was fun to get to know. Jax, of course, is hilarious but tragic. I loved seeing his relationship with Baldair and Erion. The Prince’s Rogue had the most “Romance” and an absolute badass leading lady! There is a little bit of spice but nothing graphic, barely PG-13 IMO. Having half the book from Baldair’s POV was the icing on the cake. As a huge fan of Daniel and Craig but mostly Daniel, I was excited for The Farmer’s War. Their backstory was the most surprising for me and had a hint of “Enemies to Lovers” except instead of lovers it’s brothers.Personally I enjoyed reading Air Awaken’s first and then this Trilogy, but you can probably read either one first and still enjoy them.

I've now read ALL in the Air Awakens series. I will miss all the characters. They are so well fleshed out, it's impossible not to fall in love ( or hate, as the case may be) with them. Onward to the next set of stories. I am completely captured by this authors writing.

Elise Kova is an amazing author, and I adored the main Air Awakens series. I was super excited to begin the Golden Guard Trilogy, but as an essential worker putting in a fair amount of OT hours during the initial Covid-19 pandemic, I was not able to start the book right away. Unfortunately, my 90 days are past due, and I have no way to contact Amazon about the order - and want to make sure to recommend to everyone else who is buying any books currently: please make sure to thumb through the book when it arrives. The entire Crown's Dog story (first of three-in-one books) has a strip of print missing from the left page... that makes reading much more cumbersome and difficult. For the most part, I can figure out what the missing words are, but I wish I would have at least thumbed through the book to check it out when it was first delivered.The misprint makes it hard for me to even begin reading, and I'm not very far (mere pages) into the story - hence the 3 stars.But know that I love Elise Kova's writing/stories and am going to try to push through this to discover the story behind these characters.

I loved the quick story line for each member of the golden guard, it tied in a lot of aspects. I read air awakens first, then vortex chronicles and it's crazy how everything lines up just right. Great read!

Really enjoyed digging deeper into the back stories of important characters. Loved seeing how all the timeline fell into place. Very well done! Highly recommend

Really a great story. I can hardly wait to read the next story. I just love the way you haveEnjoined the stories.The characters are wonderful. You are right up there with the greats.

Every book set in this world is amazing and this one is no exception! Absolutely loved it! Getting to read about the past of these characters makes me want to reread the Air Awakens books.

I wish I read this before reading Air Awakens. But reading these stories after fully finishing Air Awakens: Complete Series and knowing the characters through those books beforehand was also so nice. Some parts sad knowing what happened in the books to come. Other parts finally clicking together knowing certain things happening in the books. It was all beautifully written and I'm so happy to have read these books in the order I did. Now onto Vortex Chronicles!

An enjoyable trilogy but it jumps around a bit. The character Nox appears then disappears rather too conveniently Full of gaps but enjoyable on the whole

I absolutely love this series, have read the Air Awakens series and i am now about to start on the next.Fabulous hope there will be more along this line.

Das Buch gefällt meiner Nichte ausgesprochen gut. Wurde schnell geliefert.Leider wurde es ohne Einband geliefert. Es sieht somit nicht wie oben abgebildet und auch nicht wie die anderen Bücher der Buchreihe aus. Schade.

Not much to say other than Elise Kova is now an "auto buy" writer. Fantastic stories to supplement and enhance the already awesome Air Awakens series. If you haven't read them, you really MUST.

As in other other series from the autor you cannot stop reading, even if you have read the vortex ones already.
