Works as advertised
This was a decent price for this set up all in one case. I was a little confused in the beginning on the grade rod markings. I thought it was going to be inches on one side and tenths on the other. In fact, it was inches on both sides and on one side they were reversed, so maybe like it would be easy to find the depth of a hole, as opposed to going up on the other side of the rod if that makes sense. I think I’m going to order the remote they sell for this. I can see where it would be useful.

Cost equal to home owner units sold at big box stores
I bought a Bosch laser level that was loaded with one problem after another. I return the Bosch and bought the Spectra laser level for less money. The Bosch had a 165 foot range which I never was able to verify but the Spectra has a 1,000 foot circle range. I tested it to 250' and it was a joy to hear the beeper loud and clear. The Bosch unit never worked. Other laser levels I have owned had receivers that beeps you could not hear unless it was quiet. The Spectra chirps loud! This brand is so far advanced from box store units I urge you to try this brand first. I wasted an entire day playing with the Bosch but had the Spectra unit up and running in minutes right out of the box. Outstanding unit solidly built.

Product doesn't work without a remote
I had a week off from work and was excited to get some grading done for a barn we are building. I finally felt justified to purchase a rotating leveling system like this and went through several reviews online. This seemed like a good product, and I was excited to put it to use. After spending an hour trying to set it up and not understanding why the laser wouldn't turn on, I came back inside only to read some of these other Amazon reviews that described the same issue I was having. It doesn't work without a remote, and the remote doesn't come with this kit. So I ended up running to Home Depot and bought a Bouch unit that worked perfectly, as I had heavy equipment rented and couldn't lose the time off. I ended up burning 6 hours of daylight in total and will never buy anything from this company again.
