Planets (National Geographic Kids Readers, Level 2)
P**.
Good for children AND college grads who don't know their planets.
I damn near had a heart attack after paying for a four year education at a highly regarded university for my daughter and she couldn't name the first few planets in order from the sun. Yes, my heart skipped a beat... In any case, she got this book a few days later and she can now conversationally mention the planets and not look like a total idiot. SO a $100,000 education was completed with a $5 book. WORTH IT.She also got a children's book on narwhals after losing a bet on they being factual or fictional creatures. If YOU aren't sure Amazon has a book for you. Fun fact, the tusk is derivative of an upper canine tooth. Too bad they don't have two.Paul

Such a great book
This was a perfect book for a kid that loves the solar system! It’s super informative and made well. It’s a sturdy book that should hold up well.

Beautiful, informational books for kids
My son is obsessed with planets and our solar system and this is one of the 4 books he owns on the subject (for now, I'm sure we'll get more). It's got great full color pages and easy to read font. The pictures are wonderful. There are even jokes on some of the pages which my son gets a kick out of.Our family loves the National Geographic Kids books. My son is 4.5 and can read pretty well independently. I sometimes have a hard time finding books at his reading level. Either the books are too easy to read, or the they're harder to read, but he's not ready for that level of comprehension. These books present facts in a simple way. Many words, but the words are easy to read. No complicated vocabulary. In fact, when new vocab is introduced, it's defined at the bottom of the page.

Planets (National Geographic Kids Readers, Level 2)
Excellent choice of books for wee scholars interested in the planets. Easy to read, lovely photography. Highly recommend. We are using these books in an after-school tutoring/enrichment program.

Great book for kids
We were watching TV one time and a clip showed about planets and outer space and was talking about it so I knew he had interest in them so I looked for a book about planets. And so far this is the best book that I found in terms of value and its substance which I got from reading the reviews. And we got this book my son loves it. It is easy to comprehend and fun to read. I like the graphics. My son who is 4 years old now memorize the solar system and is familiar on how it works. Since we got it, we still read it everyday. Next time I'll get him a solar sytem toy.

Small lightweight book that is easy to carry
My 3 yr old DS loves this book. He can't read it but it is very lightweight and he carries it around calling it his planet book. It has all the planets he recognizes. My DS can recognize and name all the planets in order and talks about their attributes. I like it because the photos are accurate unlike some illustrated books on planets. If he is going to remember facts about our solar system at least they can be accurate ones. Finally this is really like a supplement book to a more simple easy to read book he has at home. It is way to difficult for a toddler to understand without adult help.

Excellent Science Resource for lower elementary readers
The best series ever for young readers. It is very hard to find books for young readers that are based on the natural world. The photos are beautiful, the storyline is full of accurate, interesting, scientific facts about the subject, and has a vocabulary building review at the back of the book. And each book in this series has several upside down jokes that reference the subject, an added point of interest for Montessori and all children. BTW, I have gotten more than 30 of these titles for my classroom. Highly recommended!
