JL AUDIO C5-653 Evolution C5 Series 6.5" 3-Way Component System

Absolutely amazingFirst of all, I am a profectionistSecondly, I am extremely audio sensitive and nit-picky to highs and lows.Thirdly, most importantly, I'm not richHaving a fair experience on speakers and systems, I would highly recommend these to anyone I don't know. Why not anyone close? I like to impress people, to have the best, and make people say wow! I also like to occasionally be around "normal stereo systems" because when I listen back to mine, I have a fresh appreciation for them. And these suckers do the job.I built my own home system with these, a 13" JL W3 w/ bash 500 amp, and emotiva equipment. The c5 speaker box has 2 seperate compartments; one for the tweeter and mid, and a .75cf woofer sealed zone powered by emotivas 300w 4ohm amp.These speakers have AMAZING highs, and good lows. The woofers are not for sub level base.. They are for mid level base and they sound spectacular.When you put on a spunky pop song, these babies really bring the music to life! They make you want to dance, it's not just noise like most systems. It's not just loudness, it's actually chill bump heart racing music resurrection, a feast for your harmonic soul. I've had many systems, and none even come close.Last week I went to best buy listening to their home speakers just for kicks, and it sounded so cardboard and plywood. Don't stray away from a first right choose here.They are loud enough, without losing quality, to be heard a mile away. The woofers do not distort, the cone will actually hit the magnet before anything.Excellent build quality, amazing price. I'm sure there are better speakers but I'd put my $3000 system up against a $10,000-$15,000 system any day of the week.

I have not heard a better car stereo system then these speakers driven with a nice amp. The clarity is outstanding and with good placement the stereo image can be exceptional for a car stereo. The tweeters are excellent, crisp with out being metallic or harshFirst this is a three way speaker system designed for a custom install. Most likely you will need to make modifications. However I just installed this in an FJ Cruiser with off the shelf speaker adapters to put the 6.5 in in the door where the stock 6x9 is located. I constructed a sealed space in the door with sound damping sheet like dynamat. these 6.5's can put out a fair amount of bass and will rattle a door easily. The mid range and tweeter fit in the stock speaker location in the dash and you can locate the tweeter as need on the dash or window pilar.One challenge is placing the crossovers. They are a bit fat to easily tuck behind the dash.I would not recommend running this system with just a head unit. I powered this system with a Phoenix Gold TI 500.4 amp along with an additional sub. You could get by without having a subwoofer with this system. But a sizable amp will make them shine. They have a protection circuit for the tweeters that self resets.Good luck, take the time and too it right, you will be rewarded with this system.

These Speakers have me in AWE! Once u listen to these trust me you will know the difference between alright speaking, good speakers, and GREAT SPEAKERS!! I previously had changed out the factory Bose system in my Escalade to The Focal 165 6.5 components... My Bose were alright but Ima Audiophile, which only means A person who is interested in High Fidelity sound reproduction. When I upgraded it wasn't much of an upgrade to the Focal 165 series.... Now I upgraded to these BAD BOYS and Wooow !!!! Huge upgrade!! Now I will put my system which I spent about a lil over 3k Total against any $20k system as far as Clarity. I'm almost 40 so I'm more about sound quality over Just Bass, (Don't get me wrong these have Bass tho)! I have sounds system in all my vehicles since High school and now that I just spent a couple hours reading reviews..... This time I got it Right....Now that I got yr attention my system sounds Exceptionally Great due to the fact that I have an Escalade and any SUV will sound better due to the sound not being muffled.I have the 8100 Pioneer Deck, the 5 channel T-1000 Rockford Fosgate amp, and the Rockford Fosgate 600 Watt 4channel amp, pushing 2 10" W3 JL Audio Subwoofer custom for Escalades, 2 JL Audio 3way speakers in the front, with dynamat in the doors.Middle Row: 2- 6.5 Alpine Type R..Far rear: I have 2 JL Audio 2 way C5 with the 2 tweeters.Also in the Rear: I had installed the Rockford Fosgate 4" Tweeter! Wow don't put that in front with u...Also I installed the Clarion Equalizer with the built in crossover.. (must have).Last but not least another 12V battery with 1200 watts with a built in capacitor.I know most people won't get this but if yr mate don't like you spending a lot of $$ on things like this which my wife hates. Hear this: After hearing this system she was like WOOOW now I hear the difference and see u did yr homework!! She sat in the car parked at home for bout 40min listening to music.... NEED I say more.. Buy em And get them installed correctly with the correct wires and u won't b mad.Suggestion don't spend more on installation than u did on your system! Use The Technology we have today, use Yelp, etc and read reviews... They work.BTW, I went to Home Depot and spray painted the grills to match the front panels. About to do the rear next.

The brightest sounding speakers I've ever heard. Also recommend JL 12w6 powered by a single 900/5. Breathtaking combination. As another reiviewer said, i've also had many systems and nothing comes close. There so loud and clear, there is no way you can turn them all the way up.
