Reusable Rope Clamp 5/8 inch - Two (2) Pack

This item is a solid hold connection, I have faith in this item.

I have always made my own lead ropes and lunge lines. I normally lash or braid back, depending on the rope. I decided to give these a try instead. After a difficult day with a young horse, I can honestly say that the rope broke and the E-Z - TY Reusable Rope Clamp did not.

These are ok, but could be better. They seem undersized because the rated rope size and assembling then was very difficult. I have had several of them break when the thermoset threaded inserts pulled out. That's not the end of the world, as you can drill them out and run a machine screw/nut through the hole, but still ... they should have just molded in a hex pocket for a nyloc or something instead of the insert.I've also found they don't hold up if the rope experiences any kind of torsion load.The concept is cool, but I don't think I would buy this variant again. If someone made these in solid stainless (or even anodized aluminum), though, I would buy a bunch - even at 3x the price.I also expect the version that doesn't try to make a loop and hide one of the ends of the rope to work better and be easier to assemble. Just not as clean of a look.

At first I thought they wouldn’t fit, but these 5/8” clamps fit my 5/8” polypropylene rope perfectly and seem to be decent quality. No more frayed rope or rust of standard rope clamps.
