Highly Recommend — Works Like Magic with Minimal Effort!
I’ve tried a few different ways to clean my washing machine over the years, but affresh tablets are by far the easiest and most effective solution. Our washer was starting to develop that stale, musty smell that eventually transfers over to clean clothes and towels. I popped one of these tablets straight into the drum (no mess, no measuring) and ran a hot cycle. The tablet broke down all the deep-seated soap scum and grime buildup—all it took on my end was a quick, effortless wipe-down of the loosened residue inside the machine afterward, and the difference was immediate. The odor was completely gone! What I love most: Minimal effort required: Just drop a tablet in, run the cycle, and give the inside a quick wipe. No strong chemical odor: Leaves behind a clean, neutral scent rather than heavy perfumed cover-ups. Consistently reliable: Keeps high-efficiency (HE) and front/top loader machines running smoothly without damaging seals or piping. Using one tablet a month has completely solved our washing machine maintenance. If you want fresh-smelling laundry and a spotless tub, this is an absolute must-have!

This is not a gimmick. It WORKS!
I have a set of Whirlpool Duet frontload washer/dryer that are 16 yrs old and going strong. Don't judge me, but for 15 years, I never washed it other than running the wash cycle maybe 3x and only once did I add the bleach (per manufacturer's instruction). The putrid, old, musty, gamey, mold smell only went away for a short time then would come back several weeks later. I thought the only recourse i had was to let the washer air dry with the door open and deal with it. I saw these washer tabs on Tik Tok and realized, hey man, these exist? Where have I been all this time?? Excited to try them on my funky smelling washer, I was now faced with the task of choosiing which brand to buy. I chose the Affresh because it seemed most economical but also highly rated. It arrived last night and I popped one in the washer and ran it on the wash cycle (per Affresh instructions). Note: I had a bit of anxiety doing this as it clearly states on the dial "Clean Cycle - Bleach ONLY." So I broke the Whirlpool rules and defied the instructions, but I guess I will ask for forgiveness later if necessary. The cycle finished and a few moments ago and in order to truly test the effectiveness of this product, I opened the door, stuck my head inside and took a HUGE WHIFF. People, my washer smells CLEAN. No, not pine smell clean. Not strong perfumey clean. Just FRESH & CLEAN! I describe the smell as that same smell of the suds when you go through a car wash (almost fruity?) How? What exactly did this do? Inside of the drum, I found there were 2 things left behind: a coffee bean and a small quarter-sized clump of hair. THAT'S ALL. I braced myself and looked inside the rubber door liner, thinking there will be a disgusting sludge of slime and gunk for me to wipe up. While there was some dirty spots as residual, it was almost nothing. I took a paper towel and ran it along the inside of the door seal and picked up just a small smearing of residual black stuff. Don't ask me where the rest of it went, but at this point, I don't care. I'm trusting the process because everything else smells and looks great! The inside of my washer is still wet, though, with droplets clinging to the drum. Since instructions say to remove any residual, I wiped it dry with a paper towel and leaving the door open to air dry whatever remains. Instructions say to repeat the process up to 3x if washer is still stinky, but I only used one tablet in one cycle and my machine smells awesome and looks sparkly! I have 5 more tabs left so I'm thrilled. I don't think there is a need for me to try or compare the Affresh brand to something else. I'm extremely satisfied with it and unless there's a reason for me to change, I will stick to Affresh from now on. Guys, please re-read my first sentences. After 16yrs and only washing my washer 3x, I achieved the impossible with one Affresh tab. If my washer can get clean smelling, so can yours!

Great for Ongoing Maintenance—Helps Prevent Musty Smells and Buildup
I originally purchased these because I have a septic system at my cottage and had just bought a new washing machine. With our well water, I started noticing some yellowing in the trays, likely from iron, and this seemed like a good preventative step. It’s also recommended by manufacturers, so it felt like a smart and low-risk thing to try. These are very easy to use—just drop one in and run a cycle. Since using them, I haven’t seen any new yellowing developing, which is a good sign. It didn’t remove the existing staining, but I’m hoping it helps prevent things from getting worse or possibly lightens it over time. Because I liked the idea of maintaining the machine, I also started using them at home. While the difference is subtle at first, I’ve noticed that neither of my machines has developed that musty smell since I started using these regularly. I don’t use them perfectly on a strict schedule, but probably every month or two. For me, this feels like one of those simple maintenance habits that helps prevent a bigger problem later. It’s much easier than dealing with buildup, odor, or needing to run stronger cleaning methods after things get bad. I also picked up the same brand’s dishwasher cleaner tabs, and those seem to be helping as well. What I like: Very easy to use Helps prevent musty smells Seems to reduce or prevent new buildup Good for ongoing maintenance Septic-friendly and manufacturer-recommended Things to be aware of: Results are subtle at first Not a quick fix for existing stains or heavy buildup Works best when used consistently over time Overall: A simple and effective way to maintain your washing machine and help prevent larger issues down the road. It’s not an instant dramatic change, but it feels like a smart and worthwhile habit to keep.

Freshened my washer but I wanted better results
I bought this cleaner expecting it to make a bigger difference than it did. Based on the reviews, I thought it would leave my washing machine looking almost brand new and completely eliminate every odor. While it definitely helped freshen things up and the washer smelled cleaner afterward, the results weren’t as dramatic as I had hoped. It was very easy to use, and I think it does a good job as a maintenance cleaner rather than a deep cleaner. If your washer just needs a routine refresh, it works well. If you’re expecting it to remove years of buildup or solve every issue in one cycle, you may be a little disappointed. Overall, it’s a decent product, but I think my expectations were a little too high.

Completely Eliminated the Musty Smell – Highly Recommend
I never realized I needed to clean my washing machine until I found these! My top-loader had a damp smell that was actually transferring onto my clean laundry. I tossed one Affresh Washing Machine Cleaner tablet into the empty drum, ran the "Clean Washer" cycle with full load, and the results were great. The odor is gone, and the inside looks clean. Each tablet is individually wrapped, making them super easy to store long-term without worrying about them crumbling. Since a 6-count pack lasts six months, just one tablet a month, it's an easy, budget-friendly way to keep clothes smelling fresh!
