K9 Ballistics Tough Rectangle Nesting Dog Bed - Washable, Durable and Waterproof Dog Bed - Made for Small to Big Dogs

I've tried many dog beds with my 1 year old Rottweiler. He's a shredder when it comes to fabrics so I had high hopes for this bed! The bed was delivered last night and he was put in his crate this morning around 6:30am... At 7:30am I checked in on him on the camera and its destroyed.. He somehow managed to rip through it and shred the inner bedding. I'm so upset, I had high hopes for this and now I'm back to square one and out the money for this dog bed.

I was referred this brand by a lady i met at the pet salon while picking my my dog. She claimed that K9 ballistics is the best brand for dog beds. It is supposed to be "Chewproof", dogs can't chew through it scratch it up whatever or you money back guarantee. I bought my 7 month doberman pup a new bed for Christmas, and in 3 days she was able to chew right through the cover and the bedding itself. I received the new bed cover, one time warranty and only the bed cover itself. I was told to spray bitter spray on the cover to prevent biting and chewing, so I will try it and we'll see how it goes. I will update you guys if the cover holds up.

So I did a lot of research after our new rescue dog chewed up his first $50 Petsmart bed. K9 Balistics has good reviews and I also liked the four month guarantee. With us spending $180 on a bed, I was really hoping there would be a guarantee maybe even longer than four months. Well, six weeks in, I just noticed this. He has two big chew holes in the bed already. I flipped it over in his crate as I’m waiting for the replacement cover. Amazon was really good about working with me but I am disappointed. I’m giving it TWO stars because I like the quality of the bed. I do like how tough it is and how easy it is to clean with a wet rag. I do feel the overall quality is really good it just isn’t necessarily “chew proof”. I would recommend this bed to someone who wants an easy to clean durable bad for their dog that isn’t a puppy that likes to chew. Possibly maybe for an older dog that is past his chew face. But it is attractive and he does look happy sleeping in it!

This bed lasted no longer than any others we've had for our dog who likes to chew, but this one was worse than the others because 1) it was so much more expensive, 2) the fabric is stiff and therefore oddly "noisy" and slow to let out air when the dog sat on it; and 3) it has an awful whitish coating on the inside of the fabric that, once the dog chews through it, flakes *horribly*--little white flakes of the fabric lining are all over and it's just a mess. I couldn't give this a lower recommendation for dogs that like to chew.

My golden retriever tore up the $160 "K9 Ballistics Original TUFF Bed" within a few days. The warranty does NOT replace the product, but just the cover. If the dog chews the outter shell it will destroy the stuffing as well, rendering the replacement shell absolutely pointless. They did quickly replace the shell cover for me, but I have no bed to put in it and even if I did, my dog would tear up the product again. If your dog is a chewer they WILL destroy this bed. Their customer service was good but the product is awful and the warranty is a joke..

Ballistic Dog Beds and Covers are a long time favorite of mine. As a breeder of Belgian Malinois since 2007, who is constantly on the lookout for the "best of the best", I highly recommend Ballistic Dog Beds. But, this bed is NOT for puppies, spoilt dogs, untrained dogs, or for leaving a dog locked in a cage for the better part of a day without giving him or her a great deal of outdoor exercise. This bed is for trained, mature dogs who, nevertheless, like to scratch their bedding material in an attempt to "arrange" it into a nest. The cover is easy to vacuum and spot clean. Wash it in the washing machine only when it is genuinely filthy, as washing does break it down slightly; makes it softer, and makes it less water-resistant. My last covers endured for several years. I expect the same thing from the new ones.

I was skeptical that I’d ever find a bed that my pit puppy wouldn’t eat! The first pic is of her previous bed. When the K9 Ballistics bed came in, she plopped down on it before I could even get the cover on! It’s been 3 weeks so far and not a tear or rip in sight! I LOVE it! And so does she!:)*Revised review- It looks like I reviewed this bed too early. She ate her bed in less than 2 months.

Garbage.. Waste of money is right! "Do not buy this for young dogs" should be in their description based on my experience and all the negative feedback I'm reading. My 10 month old pup chewed through the bed in a matter of 1 hour alone WITH CHEW TOYS IN THE ROOM!
