EST: Playing The Game* The New Way *The Game Of Life

two for effort
I now understand why Werner Erhard sued to keep this book off the market. Getting through all the ranting and raving about stuff like his uncle sanding wooden horses and changing the town name on them. And to touch briefly on the key concepts of est and not getting what they are about is a waste of book money. Erhard must have known this was just some guy wanting to make est a get-rich-quick scheme. But the seminars had nothing to do with money, just experience and being leading to life quality. This book is so misleading it should be taken off Amazon.

I like it so far but a lot of questions as to some history ...
Why did Werner Erhard try to stop publication of this? Seems like that’s being used as a ‘selling point’ to sell the book. Is this based on EST or on author Frederick’s own philosophy? I like what I’ve read so far but it does raise questions as I keep reading. I will do some other EST reading and research. I remember when Amazon reviews could have comments in response to them! ... which would be interesting in this case for more context. I like the writing style but since EST is in the title - despite the rave reviews - how much of it is EST? The author never addresses this. Is this real?

A Must-Buy Guide for Clearing Up Your Life
I bought Carl's book when it first came out in hardcover back around 1974. It was I believe the first book to describe the est workshop in such a way as to convey its essence to the reader (assuming the reader truly got involved in the book). In fact, Carl was sued by the est people when the book first came out. The suit was eventually dismissed as far as I know.Anyway, ever since I first got the book I've read it I would guess about three to four times a year and each time have obtained value from it--either in the sense of new insights or in the sense of refreshing insights that I had already obtained. I never took the est training but did go through the Landmark Forum. I still recommend the Forum but for a first peek at what's going on, I strongly recommend this book along with Luke Rhinehart's, Ted Willey's and W.W. Broadbent's in that order.I don't make this suggestion lightly. As a psychotherapist of 35 years I've used the insights from this book with innumerable people, mostly with very good results. This book is high-octane. It can be intense in parts and at the same time, it's also fun to read.

The "Game" of the "Game of Life"
I enjoyed the book. It started out with a lot of energy but seemed to lose a little bit in the end. Hard subject to cover, however, and Carl does do a great job of describing the methodology of est. I wish there had been more description on some of the experiential activities that were a part of the est training. Still it is a great insight into our "human nature" and how we can let go of the ideas we take on that run our lives into the ground. I love this about est in general and the whole concept of "controlled folly" extolled by don Juan (Carlos Castaneda) is not more clear than in this book, even though the author doesn't use the Castaneda terminology.Carl BozemanAuthor: Amazon bestselling book; "On Being God - Beyond Your Life's PurposeAre You Listening? and this is the best book I have ever had in my hands
I usually read lots of books on different subjects, and this is the best book I have ever had in my hands! It is surprising, eyes opening, promising, and instructive. The lessons I have learnt are outstanding! The way the author writes it is extremely engaging and motivating. I have been reading it for the second time now, and I am enjoying it once again. I want the concepts of this amazing book to sink into my mind; therefore, I will be reading it over and over again. I have the feeling that the perspective presented in the book is life changing. Thank you Carl Frederick for this very valuable book.

EST can be a life-changer.
The Kindle version out now is an update of the old paperback I have that was printed in March 1976.When I found out there was an updated version, I immediately ordered it.This is a really easy update to understand, especially in the Kindle format. It is a life changer. Not the old style self improvement stuff. If you are one of the 99% living unconsciously this maybe the key to becoming part of the 1% that lives conscious, more productive, more satisfying lives.

Thank you for writing this book!
I found it enjoyable to read. The content clearly explained the numerous distinctions covered. A really useful tool that helped me clarify and organise the distinctions I learnt during the Landmark Forum and Advanced communication curriculum. Highly recommended to those who want to review the course content and the distinctions. And for those not planning to attend the course this book is a good way to get the learning

I would like to thank and congratulate the authour
I would like to thank and congratulate the authour. The subject of this book is wonderful and insightful and life changing. There are however one or two paragraphs in the Center that were hard to take because the author seemed to impose his rigid philosophical views on the readers. This had a very energy depleting effect on the books overall integraty.

Transform your life
Out there thinking, deep - a few pages needs thought and reflection. Quite brilliant - though a little complex at times. After a while the philosophy/science of the book starts to make sense and it flows. Worth a serious study......if you want to transform your life, this is your book!

Some really challenging information to assimilate, but worth the read; if for nothing else than another viewpoint. Free your mind and the rest will follow.
