This YoLink Mini Plug is absolutely amazing for long-range smart home control! The 1/4 mile range claim isn't just marketing hype - this thing actually works from incredible distances that leave other smart plugs in the dust. I've tested it from various locations around my property and I'm blown away by the connectivity. Even from the far end of my yard, through multiple walls and obstacles, it maintains a solid connection. No more dead zones or frustrating dropouts like I experienced with WiFi-based plugs. Setup was surprisingly simple and the app interface is clean and responsive. I love being able to control outdoor equipment, garage tools, and remote appliances without worrying about signal strength. The build quality feels solid too - good weight and sturdy construction that inspires confidence for long-term use. The compact size doesn't block adjacent outlets, which is a nice design touch. So I'm a cybersecurity engineer, automating my personal systems. I have houses 700 miles apart, and I have a ridiculous level of automation because that's just how I roll. So much of the gear I use works great when I'm in the room, and fails the hour I leave for the other house. Wifi is a wonderful thing, when it works. The problem is it is easy to jam up wifi, AND so many of the IOT devices are based on 2.4ghz wifi that can be shut down by any baby monitors that use wifi frequencies but do not use wifi. A baby monitor /can/ shut down any 2.4ghz wifi within a half mile. So as a result I see tons of wifi failures in that 2.4ghz band. It's not just baby monitors, but those are a common example, there are many others. Yolink uses loran technology for communication, easily overcoming wifi failure modes. This is important to ME. Your mileage may vary. I have only two issues with yolink products. One is the speakerhub, it is wifi only, so it falls outside of my "sphere of reliability", I /really/ with it had an ethernet port. Speakerhub makes a noise when wifi goes up and down... I hear that noise a LOT. And it isn't my wifi router's fault, any properly operating wifi AP will fail to operate when blocked by a interfering signal, that is a required part of the wifi protocol, wifi that doesn't do this is actually illegal because it might be near a military radar installation. The second thing about YoLink is that sometimes I need polling cycles of short duration, so for example a temperature probe on an air conditioner will need to have fast polling cycles to capture the curves needed to check performance of the unit. The hour polling cycles are great for most things, but sometimes I need more frequent polling cycles, even if only temporary. I wish there was a way for me to buy extra polling cycles on a month to month basis, but I think that functionality is probably reserved to larger customers with larger operations. So the power of the yolink platform is that because it is not on your wifi, it can be used to repair and remediate issues with your wifi. In my redundancy setup, I have a hub on each of the ISP's feeding a site, so that if one ISP is down, I can reboot the router from the other ISP connection, from anywhere on the planet. And in the short time I have been doing this, I have used it to resolve issues with both ISP's, thereby avoiding 20 hours of driving. I have many brands of remote power modules, as well as temperature sensors, 4 brands of surveillance cameras, a cisco dual-wan router, hvac controls, and automations to manage some of my personal "infrastructure". YoLink has been the solution for many problems, and a joy to build ifttt automations for. It is clean and simple.

This smart plug has worked well for what I bought it for. Setup was quick, and it paired with my YoLink hub without any issues. The built-in power monitoring is useful, and it integrates well with Home Assistant for automations and monitoring. The biggest advantage is YoLink's long-range communication. I'm using this in the concrete basement of a multi-unit condo building where Wi-Fi and Zigbee devices would never maintain a reliable connection. The signal has been rock solid, which is exactly why I chose the YoLink ecosystem. I originally planned to use this with a chest freezer, but I ultimately removed it after experiencing a nuisance GFCI trip. I don't believe the smart plug itself was necessarily the cause, but for a critical appliance I decided to keep things as simple as possible and monitor the freezer with a separate temperature sensor instead. Overall, if you need a reliable smart plug in a location that's difficult for Wi-Fi or Zigbee to reach, this is an excellent option.

I have been using another brand of smart plug for around a decade now, but they don't do one designed for outdoors use, and since I've been very happy with all my other YoLink devices, I thought I should try this out. First up, like every YoLink product it feels solid and well built. I paired it in seconds, and plugged it in, and was up and running straight away. You can remotely control it from your phone, turn it on or off manually, or set schedules, or use a countdown timer as well. The scheduling is really cool because once you program the schedule from the phone, the schedule is stored on the actual smart plug. That means even if there's no internet connection, your schedules will continue to run. That's really nice for peace of mind. Secondly, the chances of this losing internet are pretty low. Unlike my other smart plugs that are hit or miss picking up a WiFi signal, this YoLink smart plug uses LoRa like all their other devices. That means great range, far exceeding that of WiFi. Unless you live in a Beverly Hills sized mansion your YoLink devices will have a strong signal and work reliably. But it's not just a smart outlet, it's an energy monitor too! I have a whole home energy monitoring solution from another company and they sell smart plugs, but theirs can't cope with more than 10A continuous use. The YoLink one supports 15A continuous current, which basically means that anything that can plug in, will work fine. You can also set up "if this, then that" type routines. For example if you wanted to turn on something to scare off an attempted break in, you could do that. I have YoLink vibration sensors on some of my doors and windows so if those detect vibration I could then turn on outside lights. With YoLink's other products there's a million different permutations of smart home routines you could set up. Turn on a heater when the temperature drops? No problem. One of the reasons I like YoLink products is how well designed they are. One example of that is the plug that goes into the outlet is really compact. That's great because bulky plugs often don't fit in outdoor weather proof boxes, or in multi-outlets with lots of plugs next to it. Overall, I think for everything this can do, it's well worth the money. Yes, you will need a YoLink hub, but once you have one of those you can add as many YoLink devices as you like. If you haven't already got their water leak sensors those should be your next purchase, to protect your home from the risk of expensive water damage.

I have three of these for outdoor lighting and they have been solid and reliable - no issues with the hub or connecting. In general I really like the YoLink products (I have several others). The app for these devices could be better which is why I'm not giving it 5 stars - the scheduling cannot be programmed for dusk/dawn like other outdoor systems like Wiz, and you can't share schedules between devices so changing schedules is a bit of a pain. But for the basic function these work really well.

I couldn't be happier - I was looking for a way to control the block heater for a diesel engine in a detached building on our farm 710 feet from the house where we have our internet connection. I was thinking of trenching to run a fiber optic cable or working out some way of hopping with zigbee or maybe z-wave lr but I thought I'd give this a try. It immediately has a perfect connection even though the engine is in a stucco building with wire lathe in the walls. It works seamlessly with home assistant so I have it turning on the block heater if winds are >30 mph, it's less than 32F and the weather condition is snow, hail, rain, etc. It will turn off when the weather is good again. This way I can save a TON of money not running the block heater when it's just cold but condiitons are otherwise placid. Lastly, it shows the power consumption so not only can a activate a switch to turn on the block heater I can also see the power usage so I know it's actually working. A+++ Yolink!

Love YoLink. This smart plug is easy to program and automatically adjusts for daylight savings.

No issues. Simple setup. Note that you must plug this in to get it online. Plug it on, turn it on (blue light) and then bind it to the app. It will not show as online in the binding screen unless you plug it in before binding. I would consider this a *light duty* switch regardless of the 10A rating. It's just too small to have a powerful relay imo. I will use these to turn off power to my 3D printers remotely as they only draw around 3A. You could also use this in conjunction with any other sensor to control equipment using the app....like a temperature sensor to kill power to your furnace if the house temp starts going crazy (I know 2 people this happened to....scary af). If required, you could use this to control a higher current relay with a 120Vac coil if needed.

Love Yolink products for my smart house. Devices respond quickly, are reliable and have a great range of response. I use this device in combination with other Yolink devices for my Sump Pump setup in my basement. These devices easily link with Home Assistant for a whole home automation solution.

Works perfectly.. used with the phone and it’s programmed to turn on and off at certain times. ( also bought a remote for it incase my phone isn’t around and my wife wants to control it manually)

The performance was good but not as good as other yolink products. I am not sure why but the signal strength goes from low to very strong at random times. Even though the unit is always in the same place. Approximately fifty feet from the base station. I've never had any problems with yolk products except this one is baffling me.
