Lottie Fossil Hunter STEM Science Doll with Accessories

I can’t believe more people have not bought these and written reviews- we must spread the word and encourage production of more dolls like this. I am depressed whenever I walk through a toy aisle and see the ugliness of modern dolls- you see either an over-sexualized doll or an extreme reaction to it in the form of goth ugliness/monsters. Are these the two choices we want to present to our daughters as models? You must either exploit yourself or embrace an alternative lifestyle of some sort? (I looked up the origins of the monster high dolls etc. and it is interesting). It’s clear many young women do see this as precisely the choice. The answer is obviously in the middle and I don’t know why so few have come up with lovely, intelligent feminine dolls like these. The best ones are the artist, fossil hunter, stargazer, etc, which encourage wonder, intelligence, edifying hobbies, etc. I hope they make more, such as an actual musician (right now the music one just goes to concerts/bands and dances the evening away-fine but not inspiring and kind of strange for a doll who is supposed to be a child not a teen- I’m sick of dolls trying to make girls want be rebellious teenagers (a teenage artist or fossil hunter would be ok)- a minor issue overall though- it’s just not my favorite). If you like these dolls try the reusable sticker/cardstock dress up dolls by Eboo which are called “thoughtful girl paper dolls”. They are lovely quality, packaged nicely and make a very nice gift as well, with wonderful positive role models for young girls at a slightly lower price point since they are more of a paperdoll concept. But let’s spread the word about these wholesome Lottie dolls! P.s. my girls love them and they are not indestructible but they hold up well enough and I am willing to pay a premium for a positive message. If only more of the families out there would find these and give their daughters dolls like this instead of Barbies and Bratz!

This doll was a huge hit with my 4 year old granddaughter. She loves dinosaurs and was fascinated with this doll and all the accessories. She especially loved that all the pieces fit into the backpack! I highly recommend this doll. It was cute.

This doll is a perfect "barbie" type doll for my daughter! She is only 3 1/2 so some of the pieces that come with her are put away for now because they are too small and she would definitely lose them. I love the fact that these dolls have awesome careers and hobbies with back stories, that are outside of the normal pink, perfectly make-up faced dolls in high heels, some are even edgy, like the pirate Lottie. If you are interested in other dolls that promote natural beauty and kick-assery for your young ones, I also recommend the Only Hearts Club dolls, which can be found on Amazon, etc. and Tree Change Dolls, found on Etsy. Tree Change Dolls are unique because they are actually UP-cycled Bratz and other "slutty" dolls that this woman in the UK redesigns into beautiful young girls with modest clothes and natural looking faces. In a world where woman are no longer just housewives, (which I am right now), they are fossil hunters, pirates and science geeks, why would we not have dolls that reflect reality for our young girls and boys. This is a really cool doll! While I'm waiting to give the small parts to my child once she gets older, the doll itself is great for young children. It's in a cute box, and it is a small toy with an admirable aim, or to inspire girls to imagine different worlds beyond the gendered bounds they are typically socialized into. This is a lovely toy for a girl into fossils, dinosaurs, archaeology, and outdoor adventures of any sort. We're pleased with this purchase and its delivery was on time and it arrived nicely packed.

Is a great doll but thought it would be a little bigger. Accessories are very small so not good if you have other small children around

My daughter is younger than recommended (and yeah, they're right on with what is probably the perfect age). That said, she LOVES her Lottiedoll (it's all one word now). Lottie plays in the kinetic sand, travels with us, and continues to withstand both enthusiastic 'tattooing' and bath time sessions. We were recently gifted the canoe set from the line, and it, too, is fantastic. As an adult, I LOVE that they're completely removed from all the TV-based toys, are focused on a wide variety of professions/passions/activities, and are appropriate representations of human appearances. They're all wide-eyed and doll cute, but without seeming overly cosmetized or unrealistic. I look forward to adding to my daughter's collection as she continues to grow.

Enjoy finding dolls that fit the interest of the child. She doesn’t hunt fossils but she loves to find unique rocks and sometimes you find one with shells or possible fossils in them. What a perfect match.

On line this looked so cute but very cheesy when arrived

My daughter thought it this was fantastic. She's been hooked on David Attenborough since 3 years old, and last year we went to Lyme Regis to fossil hunt and visit museums, including the ichthyosaur from his documentary. Back at home she played role play games based around Mary Anning and her dog, finding fossils all over the place. This fossil hunter doll was so perfect with its Mary Anning information cards, and all the great gear she has, which reminding me of fossil hunting with my daughter and visiting the ammonite pavement. It feels like Lottie is a real fossil hunter who actually knows her stuff! Such a well thought out toy.

Das ist eine niedliche und ziemlich robuste kleine Puppe, bestimmt gut für Kinder geeignet. Meine hat, anders als andere Kunden schrieben, schönes volles Haar, da ist nichts zu beanstanden. Ich mag besonders so kleine Details an der Kleidung, wie richtige Söckchen und das andersfarbige Futter der Weste, so etwas findet man nicht überall. Das Zubehör kann komplett im Rucksack verstaut werden. Die Hände des Püppchens sind etwas gekrümmt, so kann sie ihr Werkzeug auch festhalten. Das Püppchen kann - auf glattem, erschütterungsfreien Untergrund - sogar freihändig stehen, auch mit dem Rucksack auf dem Rücken. Das Zubehör zum Fossiliensammeln finde ich sowieso sehr interessant, könnte bei einem Kind das Interesse wecken. Die kleine Lupe vergrößert tatsächlich. Die kleinen Kärtchen über Mary Anning, die erste Fossiliensammlerin überhaupt, und das Faltblatt über diverse Wissenschaftlerinnen müssen für ein Kind wahrscheinlich aus dem Englischen übersetzt werden. Ob dieses Püppchen, wie manche hoffnungsvollen Muttis meinen, auf Dauer die "erwachsenen" Puppen wie Barbie usw. ersetzen kann, mag auf das Kind ankommen. Mit so etwa 9 Jahren wollte ich jedenfalls unbedingt eine Barbie ....

La muñeca es muy bonita y los detalles están muy cuidados. Está muy bien que los brazos se abran lateralmente. Los accesorios tienen buen diseño aunque la gorra no se le sujeta en la cabeza bien. Me parece interesante que incluya un folleto con los descubrimientos de algunas de las arqueólogas más relevantes (en inglés). Lo recomendaría a partir de 4 años quizá.
