Great interviews with Willis!
It’s kind of small print unfortunately, for those geezers wake me up in age! I wish it used a bigger font size/type face, but at least the information is wonderful and insightful and a great read!

Willis Holman is one of the best contemporary composers and arrangers in the musical community
Willis Holman is one of the best contemporary composers and arrangers in the musical community; he was captured by accurately by Bill Dobbins, a musical gem in his own right. I recommend it for all jazz and music aficionados as an essential manuscript for one's reading.

He's still impressive!
I am enjoying this book. Bill/Willis is a long-standing favourite of mine , since the 50's. I first really became aware of him when I heard 'Stan Kenton Presents Bill Holman' l.p. It was great to see him in action at the LAJI big band fest last week. In this book he talks about the jazz musicians I enjoy listening to. I find the size/shape of the book a bit cumbersome, and, including UK postage, it was a bit pricey - but worthwhile overall.

For the musicians
If you're not terribly theoretical it can be a bit dull to follow all the dots...
