My ears are still ringing. - I’ve had the original Fox 40 classic previously and loved it. I was hesitant to order the sonic blast because as a whistle purist, I love the high shreek of the original whistle. Well, some how they engineered this whistle to have dual chambers; one on top, one on the bottom that are identical to each other causing the sound to be amplified. Literally the same sound as the original fox 40 classic, just twice as loud. I know- it’s hard to imagine that any whistle can be louder than the original fox 40, but this is. I use this for traffic control on major highways and it’s legit. I have to honestly contemplate blowing it every time because there’s no way to blow it without having your ears ring kinda loud. The best solution is to cup your hands around it when you blow to offer the sound waves some guidance in order to not make my ears ring. But if you’re into that kinda thing, go for it. Seriously: I 100% recommend this for anyone who needs an immediate attention getter. Probably not good for indoor use in a gym- it’s really that loud. It arrived quickly and I was able to test it out with the following results: Pros: - I like the high vis orange color. Makes it easy to find and helps with your own visibility. - VERY loud and piercing sound - is it as loud as advertised? I don't have a decibel checker, so I don't know. - No pea - means no freezing up. cons: - It does take a fair amount of 'wind' to get max effect. However, unlike some have reported, I don't find the effort to be extreme. Overall I find it to be perfectly suited to the task.
