Q: does it contain lead?

Bentonite clay is a product of the Earth, so it contains a TRACE amount of lead just like any other product of the earth (vegetables included). In order for us to sell the product in California, they require the Prop. 65 warning to residents stating that there is Lead in the product/area. The warning is also listed on buildings in Disneyland, Banks, Etc. Feel free to take a look at the mineral analysis that is provided on our website, and it will show you the amount contained, as well as all other elements found in the product. Many of us here at the company feel safe using the product whether it's for ourselves, or for our children. We want our product to remain the way that they were created (the way that mother nature made them) so we keep our processes limited and our ingredient list short/natural. Q: Just received my first bottle and am searching for some palatable way of drinking/eating this. What's the secret? Dave Laughlin

I combine 1/2 tbls. EACH of bentonite clay, diatomaeous earth and Benefiber. In a 4 oz. container sprinkle the mixture on top of the water slowly; most if not all will sink on it's own to the bottom with little to no lumps. Put in a squeeze of a drink enhancer and stir; drink quickly. 3-4 oz. goes down in 1 to 2 gulps rather than an endless glass full. Will try the bergamot oil as tea is my choice of beverage.

Q: Is your source the ocean or the Himalayan mtns?

I would think the source would be the ocean since the back of the tub says this:Many years ago, long before the earth knew pollutants of any kind, a range of volcanoes erupted-sending volcanic ash into the water of the ancient Sundance Sea that covered much of North America. The water in this sea evaporated, leaving behind a bed of mineral-rich bentonite clay."But it's your call. Hope this helped! :)

Q: do you use this in a detox bath? if so, how?

Bentonite clay is excellent in a bath! It is great by itself 1/4- 1/2 cup. Or you can also make a batch of the clay and Epsom salts. It's an excellent detox bath.
