The book is great! Great illustrations and photos! DK books are always interesting. Shipping however, is an ongoing issue for books I order. As a site the was originally a book seller they have poor book packaging. The package was barely together and I'm surprised the books were even in it. The hardbacks were damaged on the corners and spines. When I order new books I do not expect them to arrive in worse shape than a book from a used book store. Haven't yet decided if I will bother with trying to exchange them as the replacements could be worse.

This is a basic interpretation of symbols, but its really good quality and has lots of oictures and drawings

It's a fact that this book is amazing! I have never found a book that covers so much information without making you feel overwhelmed. From the moment that I found this on this site, I was excited about getting my hands on it. I was running to the mailbox every day for a week! Needless to say, all of that waiting was worth it. When I got my hands on it, I could not put it down. I was amazed! I had never realized how much meaning was behind the objects I never once considered full of any kind of meaning.This book covers a broad range of topics from animals, flowers, personal objects (rings, lipstick, etc), to body parts and so much more. You will truly be amazed at all the information that lies within the cover of this book. I will admit, I have had this book for a couple of years now and I still have not finished it, but that isn't for a lack of trying. I just can't get enough of what I have already learned. I keep going back to re-read and then read a bit more.This is one of my favorite books by far! I highly recommend it to anyone interested in learning about the history and background of some of the most basic and overlooked things! If you are considering as to whether or not to buy this book, then buy it! I assure you that you will not be disappointed!

This a great source for understanding signs and symbols.

The book arrived on time and was well packaged. It was in pristine condition, dust jacket was remarkable. The contents of the book, I thought, were lacking just a bit. It's almost more like a picture book than a reference book. There is a lot of good information contained within this book, hence my rating, but it's extremely brief. So if you want to know more they are giving you some good points of reference to start searching with. Overall I am happy I got this book. It does have some amazing artwork inside. I suppose I was just craving a bit more information than photos. But it is a beautiful book!

Well laid out book, each symbol has a small summary, beautiful clear pictures making it a great reference book. Broken down into sections such as culture, religion, architecture and provides a quick over view to allow enough info to progress a more in depth study if you choose. Throughly recommended a great all rounder abd enjoyable book just to fluck though a broaden your knowledge. I purchased as i wanted some visual aids for an art project, as its hardcover it stays open to allow me to glance up and reference the picture, goid size book not to enormous to fit on a stabook shelf or in a draw.
