Cool idea, doesn’t reallg work. Used it for abalone diving and I still had to chase my tube

Effective but maybe hard to use.
Agree with the other reviewer - it takes more than a nominal amount of force to open the clip. I can do it with one hand under ideal conditions, but I can't imagine it would be easy when it's wet, and maybe your hands cold. To be fair - I think all the kelp anchors based on this design would pose the same challenges. The shape of the anchor itself is just tough to apply even pressure on.With kelp fishing, I'm bouncing from one structure to another, and it would become a chore to re-anchor again and again.But in terms of parts and workmanship, it's a good value.

It does everything it's supposed to do. I only rated it 4 stars because it's in my opinion that the manufacturer made the force necessary to open this clip a little too extreme. I'm a pretty strong guy and it takes both of my hands to open it up. Also...it was nice that they supplied a zig-zag cleat. It would have been better if they not only provided rivets, but well nuts as well. I can't fit the head of a rivet gum between the slats of the cleat so I had to go out and buy some well nuts. Not a big deal. I would purchase it again.
