D'Addario NS Classical Guitar Capo, Black

I bought the Planet Waves Guitar Capo in black the other day, and it works great! I did a lot of shopping around because I wanted a good capo for my acoustic electric guitar, and when I came upon this one I liked the style. BENEFITS: -The Capo is screw on from the bottom, so that means you can adjust how tight it is on the strings (So you can barre chords or just silence strings). -The black looks great, and the material is nice- I don't think it could scratch the guitar neck unless you wore off the thick padding. -This could go either way, but the capo is nice and small. I was a bit surprised when I got it, but it works just fine. Would probably be easy to lose if you have a messy place though! DRAWBACKS: You can't really mount the capo on the headstock, even if you try to screw it on. The only way I can figure out to keep it on is to clamp both the top tuning key and the headstock. (Not recommended of course) OVERALL: This is a great capo. It's built well, does what it needs to do, and it looks nice. Like I said, my only gripe is that it doesn't fit on the headstock very well. Definitely recommended!

I have used a lot of capos, and this one works better than all of them. Super easy to use. I rarely have to retune when I put it on or when I remove it. I bought the classical version (which is slightly longer to accommodate the wider fretboard) so that I could use it on my nylon string guitars as well as my acoustics. Works perfectly on both styles. Also works on my banjo, mandolin, and ukulele. (Update: I ended up buying the acoustic version too. I have am electric guitar with a small radius neck, and the classical capo was putting more pressure on the middle strings. Definitely worth having both!)

I purchased a Classical guitar and only had a traditional (steel string) Capo available to me. Not thinking it through I used it on my Nylon Stings and after a few times I realized it had damaged the string to the point they had to be replaced. Along with my string order I added this Capo so it does not happen again. Pros: It's small and lightweight. It's very well made. It not only looks great but also appear to be of high quality. It's very adjustable. Unlike my steel string Capo, this uses a screw/knob to tighten, not spring loaded. This allows you to finely tune the capo to add just enough pressure to bar the fret but not damage the stings. It works on steel strings. Yep, I found my self needing a Capo on another guitar and only having this with me, I saw no reason it should not work so I gave it a try and it performed wonderfully. I won't be using it full time on my steel strings, but great to know in a pinch I have use it. If you need a great capo thats gentle on your Nylon strings then this is the one to get.

While having an adjustable feature is nice for maintaining accurate tuning, I find myself using my Kyser more often than this guy. The Kyser is much faster and works great. This PW capo is great too, just not as quick to switch. ...I know I'm sounding lazy but lifetime Kyser users will reiterate my comment. I will say though, this capo has a very low profile. There is nothing to get in the way of fretting the lowest notes...great in that respect. I will continue to use this on my classical guitar (my Kyser is a steel string capo) but will unlikely use it much on my steel string because the Kyser is more convenient.

Using a capo on a classical guitar can be difficult -- the neck is wide, and thick. Intonation suffers, and the bass strings tend to buzz. The Planet Waves NS Classical Guitar Capo solved these problems. Because it is tightened onto the neck by a screw action, it always pushes the strings down against the neck straight. Classical guitars are also light weight; this capo is made of aluminum and is also quite light so it doesn't change the feel of the guitar in your hands. It has a sleek, low profile and therefore doesn't interfere with left hand fingering as can be the case with spring capos. Some players feel it takes too long to put it on the guitar or object to the fact that it requires both hands. I don't find that to be the case, presumably you're reasonably coordinated or you wouldn't attempt to play classical guitar. Yes, you'll need to use both hands, but ultimately the Planet Waves NS is a quicker install because it works correctly the first time. The worst thing is starting to play a song and realizing one's capo isn't getting the job done. Capos aren't used too extensively in classical guitar music, but you still need one in your case. But if you're like me and also like to play your classical for finger style folk or pop music (esp. 'Americana') you should get one of these. Now I want one for my steel string guitars too.

This is an excellent capo which fits my classical guitar perfectly and is easy to put on and take off. It also does not get in the way of my playing

I got tired of using a broken pencil and a rubber band for capo so I thought I'd try buying a for real one. I am very glad that I chose this one. It works like a charm! The price is right, and the design is well thought out. Works well on both of my guitars (both nylon string classical). Plenty wide enough for wide neck guitars, but like they tell you, not intended for curved frets. That is to say that the frets need to be flat. This capo doesn't seem to interfere with my ability to play like others I have tried. I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend this capo to anyone!

This used to be the greatest capo ever, back when the models said "planet waves" on them. Now they say "D'Addario" on them and they're just not as smooth. I didn't realize this so I ordered two thinking they would be like my original one I bought last year. When you crank them down the dial is much harder to turn. After you've turned it very tight I still get some slight rattling compared to my first one (compared one after the other on every fret). Looking at the hinge bolts, it is a different model. Other than that it is the superior classical capo. Please fix!!!!!!!!

Różne miałem kapodastry, ale tak dobrego nigdy. Jest to wyrób bardzo dobrej jakości i bardzo wygodny w grze. Zakłada się nieco mniej wygodnie niż sprężynowe, ale łatwo. Jestem bardzo zadowolony.

Leicht zu handhaben, funktioniert einwandfrei ( getestet bis zum 7'ten Bund) auch bei älteren Konzertgitarren mit dickerem Hals. Preis ist auch ok, darum in meinen Augen 100 % empfehlenswert.

Ce capodastre à un avantage incontestable : il est léger et rigide. De plus, son système de serrage est parfait et très facile à mettre en oeuvre. Je le recommande à tous les guitaristes qui hésitent encore !

Good quality. Skinny but good grip. Works perfect with wide fingerboards of classical guitars. Tension adjustment works fine with nylon as well as steel string guitars.
