Mysterious Timer

Barely pushed in one tab that holds the spring together and it broke off instantly and rendered the entire modle useless. Built a lot of these types of things. Recommend looking for a different company if this is a hoddy of yours also.

This is not a clock even though "clock" is mentioned twice in the description. It is a timer with only one hand. It was interesting to assemble. Mine does not work yet - still tinkering. Will probably discard.

Terrible, overpriced, wouldn't recommend to anyone. Only good thing about was the packaging.

Don't waste your money,very cheaply made.

I've been building the "Metal Art" models for years, I have completed somewhere around 2 dozen of them. I thought this would be similar - but the quality is so much lower. I can get past the non-functioning clock. What really bothers me is that the moving parts fit so loosely that they fall out. After assembly, I couldn't stand it upright without 2 of the gears falling out. I spent an hour trying to tweak it so it would stay together - but eventually I gave up. It disappointed me so badly that I literally (in the most literal sense of the word) put it in the trash. I don't even want to look at it, because it reminds me of the money I wasted.

I bought this off a Facebook Ad before they were ever selling on Amazon. Let me be very clear and share a few point with you: 1- very thin cheap metal and if you do something the wrong way it is very likely you will break or damage what your building. 2- does NOT tell time, clock doesn’t work like a normal clock...kinda upsetting because of the money you pay you sure hope it keeps time.... 3- after completion it was a huge disappointment as it looked cheap and just didn’t add up to the price paid. Soon after I bought off their website my CC was used serval times for a video game in the middle of the night took me a week to get it worked out with the bank...I threw the fake clock in the trash, sent them an email and never heard anything back. Granted this is MY experience and I would never recommend this company it’s complete crap! Check out metal earth they are WAY better in quality and in price.

While it was a nice idea, it never worked! the pieces do not stay together and when you wind it up the gears slip because it is too flimsy.

The directions lack detail, I had to watch the video very closely for details that are very important. Go slow. I love the finished clock but it was tough getting it right.

日本製のキットではこんなことは無いと思うが、ゼンマイを巻いた後に、戻ろうとする動力を止めるストッパーがゼンマイケースとメインギアの間にあるのだが、メーカーの設計ミスだろう1ミリ程度高さが合わず、ギアと接触した状態でした。 高さを整えるのに削ったりしていると折れてしまい、至難の業でしたがステンレス用ハンダで修復しました。 動作に影響の出ない部分があったので、ハンダ処理可能でした。 ギアの厚さは1ミリも満たないものであり、手でも曲げられるのではないか、という具合の粗悪なもの。 ギアを軸に差し込んで爪をかしめた際に、遊びが出来てしまいぐらつくことがあるので、動作に影響の出ない部分に金属ハンダ処理すると良いと思います。 なお、構造上作ったところで正常動作せず、飾り物となります。 ゼンマイは指で回すのが困難なほど強力なものにも関わらず、ギアは厚さが1ミリにも満たない薄いものと、高さ５ミリ程度の小型ギアの組み合わせです。 ガンキ車の回転に伴って動くはずのアンクルは、ゼンマイの強力な元へ戻ろうとする力で、ガンキ車から外れようとしません。 テンプ（厚さ1ミリも満たないプーリー状）を軽く動かすとアンクルは外れるが、ひげゼンマイが元々無くて扇ギアだけでは、ゼンマイの強力な力に押されてアンクルが引っかかる、外れるの動作を繰り返すことが出来ず、高回転で各ギアが回ってしまいます。 自動車モデルに使うような強力ゼンマイを極薄のギアに用いているわけで、高回転で戻ろうとする力が働くだけで、動かすたびにガタが来て最終は破損するでしょう。 明らかな設計ミスで、同社のゼンマイを使った他のモデルも同等の耐性のものでしょう。 ゼンマイを輪ゴムに換えることが出来たならば、耐性があるかもしれません。 ＊工作経験がある、より複雑なキットを求める方のもので、初心者向けではなく、上級者でも手こずります。 このメーカーのバイクも組み立てましたが、うまく設計されていないのか組み立てに工夫が必要でした。 平面金属部品を使った組み立てキットで、プラモデル、電子工作キット、ブロック、木工などの工作を一度も行ったことが無い方は、製作を避けるべきです。 モデル慣れした方でも結構製作時間が掛かると思います。 平面金属部品をランナーから抜き取り、直角に曲げるなどして、他の部品の穴に爪を差し込んで曲げたりねじったりして立体に仕上げます。 爪を差す穴は小さくて細くなった部分が多く、複数個所に差し穴がある場合、曲げ加工を正確に行わないとなかなか通せません。 手先の器用さと、上手な道具の使用方法が求められると思います。 部品の曲げ加工を失敗すると、元通り戻すのに破損してしまう場合が有るでしょう。 特に可動部分は、ギアに軸を通す場合にギアが反っていた、軸が曲がっていた、止めが甘くてぐらついていたなどに気付かず組み立ててしまうと、回転しなかったり、不安定な回転になったりするでしょう。 後から修復するにも一度分解すると、部品をそれ以上に変形させてしまったり、接合用の爪を折ってしまったりと、修復不能となるでしょう。 焦らずにゆっくりと加工し、説明書と何度も照らし合わせて、絶対にミスを起こさないように確認しながら作業を進めます。（説明書は、図で描かれている。） とがった部分が多いので、突き刺したり切ったりしてけがをしないように注意する。 ペンチが付属しているが、粗悪なので使わないで別の物を使った方が良いです。 周りが囲まれた状態の爪を起こすのに、小型のマイナスドライバーもしくはそれに良く似たものが有れば便利と思います。 ピンセット、作業マット、場合によっては拡大鏡が有れば便利です。 ペンチは複数用意（先が5ミリ程度平らになった物は爪を曲げるのに便利）し、部品によって使い分けても良いと思います。 ランナーから部品を抜く際、大型部品は別として、小型部品だと必要な部分を誤って切り落としてしまったり、バリが残ってしまう場合が有ると思うので、指をうまく使って、曲げてしまわないようにゆっくり抜きます。 このキットより部品点数が倍以上のものが有りますが、作業方法は同様です。 なおキットには、ギア、ベアリングなどの立体部品も少し含まれています。

Challenging build compared to the other styles I've built. Instructions are great, love that they come with gloves to save the fingers and reduce prints on the metal.
